I dont know why few TS users are cribbing over removal of crappy channels. U people are getting event based HD channels & many others, on time always!

^ HD channels do not come on SD STBs. So taking away something from SD subscribers to feed HD ones makes no sense.

@^FYI HD channels are added in HD TP so its not at all related to SD channels all SD channels which are removed are replaced with other SD new channels

All that is transponder space really. There is nothing like HD or SD TP. Tata Sky can use their entire space the way they want to. It is common knowledge that a HD channels takes up much more than an SD one. So if the transponder space is not increasing, the only way more HD can come beyond a point is either by compression of HD signal, or replacing some SD channels. Removing HD channels would not make a lot of sense when the existing number itself is small

They can use but they have allocated one TP only to HD channels and all their 8 HD channels are der only in one TP 10970 H

Its like even in SD viewers, u hardly have some handful of viewers of that channel.

Whereas if u remove it & add an HD channel, it will attract, or atleast retain lot more than that particular Handful of customers. Its purely from business point of view!

It wont be 9, Neo Cricket HD is event based channel so itll be removed when series ends and replaced by ESPN HD

Really on TS??when I wonder...Cant believe newspaper articles till it actually comes on air.its like we customers are beggars for ts....they took ages to add ten action plus I guess after immense pressure from Ts customers .....the reason for not adding the channel I remember was The channel quality was not great plus less viewers.....now I guess the reason for espn hd still not given is cos the pic quality is too high...Kinda feel ts is incredibly dragging itself to its own death due to bad planning....they really are not sure what channel needs to be dropped and what needs to be added...The Ts service almost makes me feel we are back to the old cablewallah culture where he decides what needs to added or not.....Really disappointing from TS...

They need to buy some transponder soon for sure .. They can't keep surviving on current ones .. Lot of chopping and adding going on .. which is not good ..

The biggest worry for ts is the number of hd channels coming out....The new transponder will come into effect almost 1 year from now and that only if isro does the job or else they are simply doomed...so its a long way....and hd channels are coming out thick and fast and d2h is really doin business....ten sports,ten cricket and ten action will all be available on hd soon and maybe even hbo hd...cant see how ts can give these hd channels with its present capacity....so really ts is goin to be at loss if they cant give these channels and others are goin to give hd channels...really its one thing to argue abt the quality...its all abt the number of channels...the led and lcd tv sales are goin to be massive this diwali looking at their prices and so will be the hd connections...so ts not able to give hd channels will be a massive step back....Ts should have lobbied big time with espn and star to keep the hd channels exclusive to ts subscribers for atleast a year ....that would have enabled them to buy some time before the new transponder got launched...but now every dth provider has these channels and the only losers are ts cos the news among the new hd subscrbrs will be that ts is limited in hd channels and hence ts image will be down the drain....I dont how they got this whole scenario wrong after all they came out 4-5 years back....or maybe they thought India never had a market for hd channels since its way too expensive....Gross miscalculation either ways....

Good to know they will be added ESPN HD soon .. They should add colors too ..I just hope they remove channels like SVBC, Disha, Sadhna, paras, sanskar, topper, nepali channels and don't know how many stupid channels they have ..They have filled the transponders with so many useless channels tht they have lost the right to ask for more transponders ... Just try to use the current one which u have in a better way ..
