Very impressive. If they can price it in alto territory, maruti has a lot to worry about.

it's priced in the range of 2.5-2.8 lakhs i heard. the official site does not list anything yet though.

now tata nano will face even more heat....finally an alternative to alto came up.

tata nano is in a totally different segment of the market. it's sad that it did not do as expected. i have driven it and i liked it a lot. though the value for money aspect is now questionable. hyundai eon is probably the most serious threat to alto because it looks and feels like a modern car. and seems to have been priced right. it the base model priced at Rs. 2.5 lakhs has an AC, it would become a solid alternative to Alto. power steering in the base model looks like a toughie though. from what i have read, hyundai would have six different variants.

Excellent car at that price range. Even looks good - something customers in that segment have never got.

I think running a/c would drop the pickup as in Alto coz of 800cc. Now the Alto 1000 cc has overcome the issue.

is that really a problem these days? i thought it was an issue with cars running on a carburettor. cars today have much better and efficient engines and the AC units are also not that heavy on the engine.

AFAIK still Alto 800 cc faces this issue.....maybe coz of old engine it seems...lets wait for the EON

if they had a diesel edition for like 50K more, they would have attracted my attention too. 😀

impressive.looks like beat & i10 mixed together in terms of look. 😀

The looks are really good. This would definitely bring in the more 'open to options' category of customers who don't just equate a car with Maruti.

Launched today.

Pricing starts @ Rs. 2.69 lakhs.

If you need an AC, you'll need to shell out Rs 2.91 lakhs

the one with a power steering is for Rs. 3.11 lakhs
