BSNL has so much potential..... they really need to wake up and revolutionalize internet segment in India..
 
BSNL is not sleeping but in fact BSNL is dying...
Dang ^_^' they're the only broadband provider near my area......I guess they'll sell the wiring?

They are right now selling their BWA Spectrum license back to the govt. & hoping to get back the amount paid for it so that they can improve their balance sheet..

In america banks are bleeding the Govt in the name of bailouts and here in india the honor goes to BSNL and Indian Airlines! :C
 
^ .. ofcourse they will be bailed out even though govt. has no funds to do so right now. In that case its probable that their BWA spectrum will be taken back & then again sold to some other players. The money earned will then may be given to BSNL... ORGovt. would allow BSNL to sell their BWA license to other players themselves without getting involved right now...

But will anybody buy that crap spectrum, the reason BSNL is vacating is not money alone but also the band in which they were allocated. It is 2.6ghz band which is best suited for WiMAX whereas other BWA players are going ga ga for LTE @ 2.3Ghz band. WiMAX is anyway a dying technology. This has left BSNL in an awkward situation as a loner....

If they vacate the spectrum in all probability it will either be turned into a free/unlicensed band for crappy players like Tikona:friendlywink: or it will be sold to very small players as biggie's will hardly want that band.
