if it is in your genes then there is nothing you can about it , just delay it by as mentioned in earlier posts, good diet, exercise and one thing no one mentioned but is true have a active sex life too 😛 you can Google up scientific basis for that , what the hell you might be going bald might as well get some while you can :closedeyes:

Read the thread and I am surprised that noone has talked about Male Patern Baldness here in detail which seems to be the case the person might be suffering from. I would try to explain what it is and how it can be "cured" or rather slowed down because there is no cure as such.


What is male pattern baldness?

Check the image. Balding occurs in a specific pattern. You do not actually lose hair but the hair starts thinning. When the hair falls and regrows again it is thinner than before. This happens quite a few times till the hair stop growing totally.


Why is it caused?

Bodies produce DHT. Excess of DHT causes Male pattern baldness which is hereditary.



How to stop/slow down/reverse the process?

1.) Green tea- Green tea besides having anti-oxidants also reduces the production of DHT. Then it is obvious that by reducing the production of DHT it also slows down hair loss.


2.) Minoxidil- It was originally given to heart patients. But it was noticed that it also helped in hair growth. Thus now it is extensively used for hair growth. Has to be applied on head and can be effective. But it results are there as long as you apply it. Once you stop the results would also stop.

3.) Richfeel (?)- You might have seen their advertisements in newspaper. Otherwise google it. They would give you medicines, shampoo etc. Their funda is simple. They use "saw palmetto" and other stuff which might result in less production of DHT and thus slow down the process. Their success or rather the lack of it is difficult to gauge because they do not claim to solve the problem. They say that the treatment would only slow down the process.

4.) Hair transplant- If all goes wrong that is always the option provided you are willing to spend the money. In transplant they take follicles from the back of your head and transplant them at the balding areas. Follicles at the back of head are not susceptible to DHT and thus the results are permanent. Doesnt take 2 much time either. Just a few sittings depending on the condition and one can carry on with normal life. The cost can be estimated at Rs. 60-80 per hair and how many are needed would depend upon the condition. Maybe a rough estimate would be 2-5 lakhs.



In any case DO CONSULT A TRICHOLOGIST before following any advice.
