Docomo EDGE speeds limited to 128kbps!

Last November I did the biggest mistake of my life that I activated 3G in my connection..From then on till now,I have been facing problems...Now the latest condition is that I have been limited to 128kbps ie 13-15KB/s download...I noticed some facts:1.While in 2G mode in the phone I am not getting even 128kbps.But when I switch to 3G/UMTS mode I am getting speeds of 128kbps properly....So guys if u intend to use GPRS use it in 3g mode in phone...2.Docomo are limiting the speeds so that ppl start using their 3g services...3.Customer care reps are the biggest douche bags even including the nodal officer(Kerala)..They dont even care u are happy or not.I am waiting for the balance to get over to MNP....

Who are you by the way?What are the customer care reps for then? To waste our time?

Yes, they have limited EDGE speeds now, earlier it was around 250kbps(dl) but now it’s 128kbps.....i observed this on my friends docomo sim and we don’t have docomo 3G in Andhra Pradesh, they will launch it by next month ( ICRA with aircel) CC said.

Operators are going into great losses because of the amounts they bought the 3G spectrum.This is a stupid strategy from my POV as no one can afford 3G in the current pricing and will continue to use GPRS/EDGE..

@steffin no bro there are no losses here they have got the spectrum for plenty of years at a cheap price.Yeah someone may say it isn't cheap (but it is cheap considering the number of yrs the spectrum is available for)

As far Mumbai Circle is concerned, I get maximum of 34 KB/s while downloading, normally it ranges between 20-25KB/s

Even if you don't activate 3G if DOCOMO 3G is available in ur area they limit the speed of EDGE to 16KBps.But I don't mind it honestly i never got 16KBps due to network congestion it is tough to even get 10KBps in my area.
