What is wrong with it? Anyways Nokia made "Nokia X Platform" look like Windows Phone, Samsung made Tizen look like "Galaxy Platform" 🙂

Except for when they would realize that they do not have the apps. Like what happened on Bada. Though things are a lot different now. Samsung has more clout. Plus they can make Tizen compatible with Android APIs and hence make it possible for Android apps to run on Tizen like Nokia X Platform and Fire OS and Blackberry OS platforms. But I guess Google has solved that problem by getting into a long term deal with Samsung thus hurting customers who are not fans of the Samsung domination in the Android market. Hopefully LG, Sony and other companies would continue to innovate and not give up in the coming years.

This creates question what customers want?
If a customer is looking for "Samsung" phone who's UI is familiar with. Would customer bother to check which OS is handset really running, unless he is not advanced users who download and install many apps. However if customer is looking for "Android" phone, he should really care for OS beneath.
I don't think its issue if Samsung sells all phones with same UI irrespective of OS. (Even my JAVA based Samsung phone has TouchWiz UI 🙂)

The problem is the lack of awareness. Consumers are not technically aware to know the difference between Android and Windows Phone and iOS. They go with the product that they like and they realize at a later stage what they have gotten into. I mean imagine how many users here even went for cheaper Windows Phone devices only to realize that the limitations are just too much to justify the lower price tag. Or even cheaper Android devices. We all know that a lot of people would pay a premium for a shitty Samsung smartphone than a well priced alternative from Sony.

People are not buying OS. People are buying brand. People look for Nokia, Samsung, Apple and purchase.
When people bought Nokia WP7 and realised that they cannot send file or song over bluetooth, they started cursing Nokia, but many were not aware that its Windows Phone restriction which blocked sending file over bluetooth. (Though Nokia later provided fix from their side which made sending file possible over bluetooth 🙂)

I do hope that things remain sane in the market and more people do not get fooled into buying shitty devices from Samsung and Nokia in the coming months!

So reports claim that Samsung is planning to launch multiple Tizen devices in India. As if people did not get burn buying their Bada devices.
