yeah me too...my C2D 8200 @ 2.66 ghz with 4 GB RAM and 1 TB HDD is showing signs of old age ;-)..will upgrade in the latter half of 2012..current PC will become an HTPC as i am dissatisfied with the Acer Revo nettop
 
Intel will be launching a new set of processors named Ivy Bridge in april-may 2012....@operamaniac whats your config??

Ram is cheap right now , get as much as you can , 8gb is minimum everyone should have , i clearly saw performance gains after upgrading from 4gb to 8gb in games load times.

Im told by pc shopkeeper that the intel genuine motherboard will come bundled with processor.... Is that so??

No cpu comes bundled with motherboard , he is just trying to sell you the crappy intel motherboard , get gigabyte or Asus they have better components , and get 4/8gb ram , a single stick 4gb 1333 mhz ram costs 1100-1200 now , check online stores like theitwares , theitbazaar ,primeabgb ,www.costtocost.in/list/pricelist.pdf for pricing and parts ,
 
A friend wants to buy a desktop all-in-one (monitor-cpu) ...20-30k budget .... any recommendations... Though I have suggested him to consider online, it is more likely that he would buy from a store .. Hence also give any store recommendations in Chennai... Brand is not a major constraint.. budget is...
