Ads/No ads on HD channels

I have heard that except Movies Now HD, there are no ads in any other HD channels.Is there a rule that HD channels are not supposed to show ads? or is it because HD subscribers are only few, so none of the companies are spending money to show ads on HD channels?If the HD subscriber base increases, say in next 2 years, slowly HD channels will start showing ads?------------------------Gopichand Pai

"Movies Now" I think is Upscaled channel which upscales all content including movies as well as ads.But other channels are "True HD", so they broadcast only pure HD content. But none of Advertisement are shot in HD mode, so there are no ads on HD channels I guess 🙂Besides there could be some regulation by govt about showing (on not showing) ads on HD channels as they are already premium charged.

Yes i too noticed that... all my HD Channels espicially Star Movies there is no ADD at all, we are paying 2 or 3 times more than the SD chanels for that HD... then how come? SVK logic is also right... still now no Advertisers shooting in HD Mode.... if so may be in future.... DTH will defenetly will have clause in that to add the advertisements... lets hope for the best

My take is that no paid channel should show ads, particularly during movies. Most of the times the breaks are up to 15 minutes, obnoxious!

I don't agree with no ads are shot using HD camera that is why no ads on HD channels. HD channels show old movies and shows that are not shot using HD camera but it is still telecasted on HD channels.About government regulation, I still doubt there is any regulation like that. If it was there then why Movies Now HD is showing ads?I feel as the subscriber base increases, there will be ads on HD channels.
