R.I.P was one of India's greatest captain...

MAK Pataudi: the eye of the Tiger: Cricketnext

Just a few months before he became India's captain, Pataudi had lost his right eye in a car accident. Where others saw one ball, reportedly he saw two, seven inches apart. He had to pick the right one - the inner image - if he were to get bat to ball. And did he do that with panache or what. Six hundreds, including a double hundred, and 16 fifties bear testimony to his grit.

hmm, didn't knew he was that good. I used to evaluate him as Saif's father (and you know how Saif is ..). Hope Saif will live up to his name.

i had heard about the losing eye incident and how he had to work extra hard for every stroke. but reading that article made me realize that it was much more than that. too bad our generation never got to see the likes of Pataudi.

May be he was like Vishwanathan Anand of our period. He is a legend in himself but never gets the lime light cricketers enjoy. The only people who would hire him for an ad is NIIT.

but sadly, in recent times, he was more associated with some wrong reasons i recall right.

He was the Ganguly of his days. Or Ganguly was Pataudi of his days.

Hehe, Pataudi fans wud probably NOT LIKE THIS AT ALL, that you compared him with Ganguly.

Ya rite. He was master of himself and He don't need any comparision. Tiger Pataudi - RIP !!!

RIP - The Prince of Indian Cricket Pataudi...Playing with 1 eye its unimaginable.....These are the people being a prince and servicing the indian cricket gets admiration....I salute you for your contribution towards indian cricket....even the present generation likes you a lot when hearing stories about you...

He was not prince.. he was Nawab 😀He was never called a prince! Because that wud be like downgrading his honour. He became Nawab at age of 11 when his father died.

@ AmishI knew that he was never called a prince .....Its my words wanted to call him prince of Indian cricket ...i meant it because during his playing days he was charismatic and stylish....thats the reason i called him Prince of Indian Cricket....By the way i know that he is Mansoor Ali Khan and he was Nawab of PAtudi....

Last line of article on Tiger Pataudi in Saamana- "News Channels showing Tiger Pataudi father of Saif Ali Khan! WRONG!!! Saif Ali Khan is son of Tiger Pataudi... other wise who is Saif!?"
