Monitoring of internet activity set to become more intense

How exactly do they intend to monitor secure traffic through this?
 
that would be interesting to see. a lot of popular web services already offer HTTPS only support. Gmail, YouTube, Google Plus (HTTPS only since day one!), Facebook, Twitter... i guess most instant messaging is not HTTPS in nature currently. i could be wrong though.

Google Talk uses SSL.
 
what if i use pidgin? it is not secure if all the clients are forced to communicate through the secure channel!

Hmm, from here its only a few steps to the big companies buying this information from the government and threatening clueless people with warnings and more, à la RIAA in the states or HADOPI in France.

But my gut tells me that if such policing ever happens in India, it'll be much worse than in any of these countries.
 

looks like it is time we study personal encryption technologies to implement on our own data. 😀
