mtnl triband
Hello friends, I have recently taken mtnl triband -combo plan (switched from tata for horrible service).Combo plan allows me speed only upto 40kbps(download).I am trying to use Vmware with this connection ,can anyone help me with settings?I am not able to establish network settings on my virtual pc("Acquiring network settings" is the status displayed.).Both host and virtual pc have windows installed. If i am not wrong MTNL uses "PPPOE" connection.Kindly Help.

If your host is connected in this manner:Host -> Router -> MTNL Modemthen you can easily use bridged mode with your VMware guest. If your host is connected directly to the mode, then VMware's built-in NAT would be a better option.

Thanks for the response "GeorgePB" .Yes my host is connected in "Host -> Router -> MTNL Modem" manner ,and i did use "bridged connection ".Infact i used all type of connection(bridged/lan/nat/host) but no use modem is not assigning ip to guest(virtual pc).Do we have to make any changes in the modem.Mtnl modem has a option of providing "multiple ip's" under "NAT" tab, which i tried ,bt same result. Is there anything i am missing or doing wrong.Kindly suggest.
