Fibernet is not just another false scheme/promise of a Telecom company. It is a dream of millions of frustrated Indian Internet users, who do not want monopoly of Telco Biggies.

Basic Idea behind Fibernet is "It will be users' own network. No one is going to charge for Fibernet".We are a company dedicated to bring Gigabit revolution in the country with an Aim to bring a lifetime free and unlimited Internet to every home.

We have started this by creating 1 Gbps LANs in residential buildings having more than 100 flats.Users can share and download unlimited movies, songs and software.
A 100 Mbps connection costs less than 3000 rupees for lifetime and a 1 Gbps costs 5000.Users can register on www.fibernet.in As soon as we get 50 applications we install fibernet in the building.
Second stage will be to connect all buildings to create a national level network and final stage would be to connect Fibernet to Internet free of cost.

what kind of spam is this?

Does this make sense?

Things i understood:
1.3000 as A lifetime fee for 100mbps and 5000 for 1gbps.
2. You will be allowed to download from customers of this company just like DC++(Hayai Zone).
3. You get this when u have 55 People Ready to take this connection in your apartment or in your neighborhood .

what makes you think it is a spam?yeah this is something we cant really imagine but its true

This is just like A DC++. LAN SERVICE which can connect to server where files are shared on this network. As mgcarley said earlier It doesn't cost a ISP to transfer GB's within the network so they are like basically charging for equipment.. but how can they maintain it with 3000 or 5000 for the whole time?

From what i get from the site, you are basically providing the framework or rather infrastructure for a country wide LAN connectivity. Internet is just an addon which maybe added later on. It is like a huge lan network.

Neither it is a spam nor is today THE "1st April". We are a group of IITians who have come up with this idea and started Innogrids.

We want you people to compare these two situations:

1. A very costly Internet connection
2. A Free 1 Gbps connection on which thousands of users are connected in your city from which you can download almost anything without any speed or data limits + A very cheap Internet connection , which you use for Facebook.

You guys definitely will tend DOT to make a new law. All the pirated shit at one place.. do you think the DOT or TRAI will Keep Quiet? although we dont have any such laws yet..

This is good idea, but what about people like me who are living on Rented house? I pay you 3000 rs and also ask 49 other people to pay you in my Apartment and what If I change my house and goes to some other apartment for obvious reasons... It seems you thought of a good business opportunity but no one is going to pay you unless you think of this practical problems... You need to come up with better plan to sell this

Lifetime free internet infrastructure or Lifetime free service incase of network overload , hardware failure , customer support ??

@sixfeetdown

Why the sketicism ?
I am not skeptic here .. As i said its not like its totally impossible.. But you can see that we will be downloading pirated stuff and that too within India.. Though its legal now it may shut down if DOT makes a new IT law with the pressure of Music/Film Industry.

so basically i will be left at the helm of other users in terms of content availibilty, if they have it then ok otherwise "bhagwan malik hai". Not to mention as said above it will the mother of all piracy activities.
