Tata Sky Service Sucks!!

Guys! This is beyond comprehension! I had contacted the helpline on 12th morning for assistance at 1860 425 6633 as my HD STB had malfunctioned. The problem is that I can't view HD channels in HD anymore. The STB refuses to change from SD mode to HD which can be done from the 'Setting' menu. This was explained to the executive there and promised that an engineer would be sent within 24 to 48 hours.

So far so good! But now it's more than 48 hours and I've yet to see hair or hide of an engineer to check out the system. So I rang again and the exec checked out the work order for the status of the complaint.

I was pretty much shocked when I was told that the status shows case closed!!! And I wasn't even informed!! I kept waiting like an idiot for someone from TS to show up!! On asking how it was so when nobody had come to check the system, I was told that the engineer had shown in the work order there that there was probably something wrong with the TV set and nothing to do with the HD STB!!!

What the bl00dy heck?? I have a Panasonic 42in plasma HDTV and watch movies on blueray on my TV in real HD!! And these clowns at Tata Sky say that there's something wrong with my TV and nothing wrong with the HD STB without even checking it out? Jeeez!

And this isn't the first time it's happened. The bottom line is that Tata Sky service sucks to hell and high heaven. For the newbies who are thinking of buying DTH, my advice is not to go in for Tata Sky! Their service is terrible and the technology outdated! And it has the least number true HD channels!

I'm seriously thinking of migrating to Airtel or Videocon.
 
This is really heights from Tata Sky technicians, don't leave it here, escalate to their higher ups through mails.Today morning I have faced a similar kind of problems with my d2h hd dvr where voice sync is not matching with video, I have complained and they have a given a TAT of 24-48hrs, but very promptely the techinician has arrived at my home at 5pm and solved my issue. The best part is both the guys visited my place today are in uniform and just now i got msg from d2h stating that my ticket is closed and i was very much happy with their prompt service.
 
Vishnu, how is d2h where reception and overall service is concerned? I need to change, pronto! But unfortunately I have three Tata Sky connections (One HD). These will have to be junked. What a waste of money!
 
Reception is pretty good even in rains, never my connection went dead. Service is very prompt as i said earlier.But few people complain abt d2h pq, but for me i don't have any problem.
 
How can he close the complaint and presume somethings wrong with your tv when he did not even visit your place ?? this is the pits .. btw reliance broadband is very famous for closing complaints without informing the customers ...

Damn! Gaurang also says that Reliance is no better!! WTF is happening? These execs need to be kicked in their a$$es! With hefty pay packets these guys need to show something for it instead of chatting away whilst having gallons of coffee in those fancy mugs!

I've been in the corporate world for years and know how most associates work. Poodle-faking most of the time. We have little or no work culture because these guys are given too long a rope with little or no accountability. And that's one of the reasons we're miles behind China!

Seriously man its happened on so many occassions with reliance broadband . Ive waited for a couple of days for someone to solve my issue and when i call their call center they used to tell me " sir your ticket is closed and solved " .. i used to be like what the F*** .. You closed my ticket without anyone even solving the issue ?? then they used to re register the complain .. all these companies are in the PITS if you ask me ( Specially Reliance ) .. there has to be stricter rules and regulations ...

They only wake up when you tell them that you are disconnecting the service or then going to the consumer court ... Sadly only threats work ...
 
In my area Tata Sky have no technician at all. Once I registered for a dish realignment, a local shop owner came as TS technician :biggrin (2):. He even recommend me to throw tata sky and purchase Videocon d2h.
 
Dude this is not a problem with ur TV nor will engineer will help u out its waste of calling dem. Tata Sky released a software update and same has happened here as well. Me too using Panny LCD 32 inch. My resolution is detected as 576i on component.

I changed to component connection from HDMI but 'SD' again didn't change to 'HD' in the settings menu. As you mentioned, I think the new software has screwed up the system.

But even with a component input my STB is showing all resolutions on my 42in Panasonic plasma ie, from 576i right up to 1080p. If you've got an HDMI connection on your TV then it should show 1080p too! :blink:

Whatever, the picture quality has sure taken a hit. It now sucks, except for the HD channels.

Well my TV doesnt have HDMI so I have to connect via component
