The download speed with Airtel 3G varies between 0.43 Mbps and 4.64 Mbps at the same spot at my home!The plans are atrocious, 200/- for 250 MB per month. Airtel does not understand how much data constitutes 250 MB. If the download speed is 4.64 Mbps, it takes a little over 7 minutes to consume 250 MB.98/- 2G data plan offer 2 GB per month. Airtel knows very well that with the speed that they offer (I have not seen more than 0.03 Mbps in Mumbai), people will use less than a quarter of that limit.

I think what op wanted to state was that he was getting 3g speeds on 2g.
I got a message from Airtel this evening. It says that I have used 60 MB data. Actually, I have used less than 50 MB (I have cellular data usage app on my phone, which shows data usage separately for wifi and cellular network). Airtel says that 60 MB is 30% of my limit. This means that total limit is 200 MB. When I got 3G activated, I was told that the plan is 200/- and 250 MB.
