Azharuddin's son critical, nephew dead in bike crash

Ayazuddin was riding a Suzuki GSX R1000 sportsbike with his cousin riding pillion. The 19-year-old went on an early morning ride with 16-year-old Ajmal on Hyderabad's Ring Road where the motorcycle lost control. The younger boy, who was the son of Azhar's sister and grandson of former MP Khaleel-ur-Rahman, was declared dead at the hospital.

no mention of whether they were wearing helmets or not.
 
The incident occurred between 9 am and 9.15 AM when the duo were riding on the bike from Shamshabad area to Gachibowli leading to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, a senior police officer told PTI. The road is prohibited for two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws."It seems they were testing the new bike which was apparently driven at a high-speed," he said. The mishap occurred when the brakes were applied near a toll gate structure under Narsingi Police station limits. Ayazuddin lost control and the skidded off the road and both of them hit the ground, he said. The duo was shifted to Apollo hospital in Jubillee Hills area in an unconscious state around 9.30 AM with the help of locals and police.
 
No they weren't Wearing helmets and according to my friends over there they participated in Racing.
 
Mentioning of Suzuki GSX R1000 was more important, I guess.Nice bike btw.
 

Azhar's son was wearing one. It was shown at the scene of accident. His friend / cousin apparently wasn't. From the pictures, the bike wasn't damaged a lot, so the thing about 'losing control' sounds a bit odd. Reports say they were travelling in excess of 100 kmph.
 
^ Exactly. While the bike does have superlative build quality, the two things just don't add up

Feel sorry for the kids.. though no one but them is to be blamed... Azar in London and their mom is Dubai when this happened...

And Ayaz WAS wearing helmet which I am told has taken quite some beating but did save his life... the pillion wasn't... 16 is too young age for death...

The combination of high speed roads, Super bikes and racing has already taken lives of 4-5 kids of celebrities... Actor Kota's (Selvarmani in Sarkar) son died very similarly...

Frankly, the cops or govt can't do much as these richie-rich kids are always let-off when caught speeding or racing with their parent's blessings... I hope the ultra-rich learn a lesson and hand such toys to their kids only after they learn some responsibility....
 
Have better things to worry about than some accident while testing a racing bike.
