TouchPal Software Keyboard (with Talia AI)

TouchPal Keyboard 4.8 released

it might not suit the needs of every android user out there but i personally found it much better than swype. though regular typing is not as good as swiftkey x.

i have not used this new build released today. but their betas have been very buggy wrt periods. i mean you manually select a word and spacing is messed up. you have to end up using the spacebar or the delete key for spacing (between words and between words and comma/fullstop). i checked the reviews and i can see that i am not the only one facing this issue. swiftkey handles spacing perfectly. 🙂

I use touch pal keyboard on my tablet, its superb & its just works, I will post the images of it working . Do i get Prize ?

only problem I faced is with delete key thats all.

looks pretty. swiping typing is still pretty good. my only issue is that accessing special characters is hard. i use special characters in lots of my passwords so i have to dig deep. swiftkey makes them more accessible.

no comments? you guys seriously need to check it out. it's free. and there are no expiry date and it works wonderfully!

I had used it almost 3 weeks back, loved it but as it requires network connection I uninstalled it. I'm very suspicious of keyboards asking for network access (if closed source), irrespective of however reputed the developer may be.
I just use the stock keyboard or this (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.klye.ime.latin&feature=search_result), it does not require network access and actually performs really well. 🙂

BTW I personally found using 'swype' difficult on a GNex. Holding the phone in one hand and using the thumb to swype from one end to the other a 4.65 inch screen was a bit uncomfortable to me. And if I need to use both hands, then the uniqueness of Touchpal dies. 🙂

it probably requires network access to download updated language packs and of course voice typing using google? how would the app update the language packs if it does not have access to the internet?

Yeah I know it would probably require for packs, sync, etc. but still I just don't find closed source keyboard using network to be safe. That's just my thinking! 🙂

i wonder if you follow the same philosophy on your desktop too considering the apps on windows etc. do not show the permissions they are granting on regular installations.
