Hathway HD

Now it remains to be seen, how much they charge, what channels they give in HD, and whether they have the capacity to include DVR functions.
 
I think it is better to forget about HD on hathway. Customer care told me today, it will be November! They have been saying "next month" every time.
 
Hathway HD is going live with 7HD channels. Movies Now, History 18, Travel XP, MTunes, Discovery HD, Ten HD, UTV stars.Cost will be around 6500 for the first year which includes STB charges and one year subscription. This STB doesn't have recording facility. ---------------------------Gopichand Pai
 
can u pls confirm what make is the stb and the model no, also my cable operator in mumbai is hinting at 15 hd channels at launch if every thing goes on time and negotiation are complete pls reply with info
 
I was told by my cable operator that... initially only 7 channels which I have mentioned above. Negotiations are going on to add more HD channels. He was not sure about the STB model and make. I will update you as soon as I come to know...
 
Recording facility missing is still a big handicap for Cable......if it comes, then we wud see a stern fight between Cable & DTH. Who knows, i wud think of going back to cable.......but that of course wud be dependent on the cable guy in the area. If they still persist with the current guy, then i wont think of it!

There are 7 HD channels as of now Movies Now, History 18, Travel XP, MTunes, UTV stars, CNBC prime 18, Colors HD.Movies Now has got a very good quality where as UTV starts PQ is not that great. I have connected optical(SPDIF) output of HD box to home theater. Getting 5.1 sound as well.

Thanks mate 🙂I wanted to buy D2H or airtel HD... the only thing which stopped me from not buying DTH was cables running all around the place and internal wiring.
 
We are using DTH for HD and better service. If your cable operator is able to provide these two, then its well enough to remain with Hathway. If Hathway HD would have started in Mumbai, I too have avoided buying DTH, but month after month commitment looked failed and I opted for d2h.
 
Btw, i wud suggest u to post a review of ur new service, whenever u find enuf time. It will help us to know how good it is, and also help prospective buyers to take their decision!
