I had a 21" Normal TV. Last week i bought the new 32" LED TV (Videocon), the clarity of my D2H was good in my old TV, but with my LED clarity became an issue, one of our member "IndianMascot" here posted the screen shots of Signal that Strength & Quality came 100%. Seeing that i checked my STB in that i got Strength 100% and Quality 60 - 70% only, yesterday i made a complaint to CC at 10:00pm for this, today morning 10:45am the engineer came and checked at my place and he did some alignment, now i got 75 - 80 % (Fluctuating). But still the Picture clarity is poor, with that i have attached my Local Cable and checked with my neighbour Big TV(NOT HD) Picture clarity was better then the D2H... is that compulsoty to have D2H HD for my LED TV?

Not compulsory. But if u have HD, the dish is quite bigger than the SD Dish. In HD, quality will be 100% without any compromises. And the clarity u r talking about is pixelation & stretching. On wide screen TVs, that give u sharp clarity, u will be always noticing some pixelation. That happens due to stretching of 4:3 video into 16:9 video.

but when i connected with my local cable the clarity is better then the D2H clarity... how come that?

Because cable is coming through cable wires, so signal has to be at 100% quality. And when u connect Dish, u can face signal issues if ur installation is not proper, OR if the weather is very bad in ur area.

Totally true. D2H picture quality is bad than cable operator service as I notice. Even D2H picture doesnt has picture noise like cable service but D2H has blured picture than cable service.

@Jaymin

That is fake Signal strength. That is their policy to show 100% strength at any situation when it catch any satellite signal except unconnected cable to stb. I dont spoil their status but I mention the reality.

Dude!! Dont be this hard biased against anyone. Signal is actually 100% when it shows 100%. There is nothing like policy in that! Mascot is getting 100% quality & i also. And v arent facing any issues, even on 40 & 42 inch TVs!

@ MAX 24

I think he is right! Yesterday an engineer came to adjust the Quality, While adjusting, Strength is always 100% only the Quality varried.... either totally gone or 100% was there at that time.... maybe a trick?

Its nothing trick dude. If horizontal alignment is disturbed, you will get poor Quality Strength, but if Vertical Alignment is disturbed it shows no signal and when adjusted jumps to 100 %. Jaymin had already instructed me regarding Quality and Signal Strength, so I made d2h engineer keep adjusting my Antenna for approx 30 minutes to get 100% quality strength. If I would not have presurrized them, then they would have left my place with lesser quality strength and me too would complaining bad PQ like MAX24.I aksed MAX24 to tell his Quality strength, but he didn't shared . I think that would clarify the matter.

Absolutely! There is nothing like "Trick" involved. Just that u have to ensure that u get 100% Quality. And strength can be upto 95-100.......

@IM Thanks for you concern. I got about 80-84% picture quality. & thanks you suggest me good way that force an engineer to get at 100% picture quality.@Jaymin, pkarthik24, IM I use SD D2H stb. I think pkarthik 24 too. you both are using HD D2H stb. But I think it maybe make difference of picture quality but still I dont think that is the matter.

At max the difference can be in Rains. Even in rains, due to wider dishes, we can be still assured of good quality & strength, whereas bit smaller dish wud create problems in extreme rains.

Actually this is the reason why i dont keep on telling people to remove cable and go for any DTH connection. Coz those who buy for 1st time, will never think of going HD. They will always prefer the SD connection. So during rains, they wud curse me only!

----------

But still, u shud insist ur engineer to make that Quality 100%. Else u will continue to face some or the other clarity issues.

@JayminYa plan to go an engineer as moscot suggestion. Lets see what happen. If I get atleast cable service quality with D2H then D2H hip hip hurray!

Eggjactly. just try out once. Might be that will solve ur issues once & for all.

You will definately get superior quality than Cable buddy. And Regarding quality of HD STB, yes it little bit better bcoz of HDMI port and Cable. But again HDMI ports and cable make difference only in HD Channels.

Why do u forget that we have broader dishes? When i talked about the size of the dish, the engineer specifically told me, that this is to ensure that Signal stays consistent even in extreme weather.
