WC win/ No.1 test ranking was the perfect timing for our so many esteemed cricketers to call it a day. They missed the chance and cos of that team building is also pushed back ..Sachin, Dravid, Laxman need to call it a day .. If India has to lose it so badly I would prefer to lose badly with a new team who atleast will learn something for future ..Sachin.. even after so many years he is still not able to handle pressure .. Saying tht he carries hope of billion ppl is wrong .. He never performs when it matters most .. This England series was the biggest series for Indian team and we see the result ..Add to tht .. It hampers the fielding .. Dravid is scrong runs but dropping catch after catch .. Same with laxman .. not a good fielder .. I know its not all these guys fault .. The younger generation is no good either (Just see the fitness level of some of youngsters and u will cry) .. But atleast we need to build the team now .. The oldies need to go .. Its time now ..

How old do you have to be in cricket to retire ?Thing with the old guys is they make an absolute killing with ad deals that it becomes very difficult to say no. The country has gotten to emotionally attacjed to these ppl that it likewise does not want them to leave either.What this does is make it very hard for younger prossibly promising players to make the top team. No youngsters or cycling through and we set ourselves up for a long drought when the oldies finally do retire.Its a difficult situation, unfortunately with all too predictable consequences 🙁

I too don't understand this yaar. Media Make so hype of Sachin 100th Century that we lost the Test Series. Everyday bloody Media Starts with Sachin's Century and then ends the day with critisizing for non achieving it. 🙁
i thought dravid had already announced his retirement from one day and t20? he is definitely needed for tests.
He need to quit test cricket too .. He may be scoring runs but his reflexes have gone down .. He keeps dropping catches .. Its just time for them ..

Tht's the prob .. They r playing the game for all wrong reasons .. They already have enough money .. So just retire gracefully ...
My respect for so many players went down when they chose to play 2 months in IPL and skip the WI tour .. Sachin and Sehwag specially .. U wanna take rest skip IPL damn it .. They r so money hungry .. Pluse just see their fitness .. How fat they r getting .. They can't even run on the field ..

And they r asking bharat ratan for Sachin ... Tht's BS .. When a player values club over country .. How can he be given bharat ratna .. He is more of a liability in big games .. Cos its 100% guaranteed tht he will not perform ..

Media is all controlled by corporates and politicians .. So it hardly matters wht they r showing... But as a cricket fan we our self know tht this obsession with sachin and other senior players won't take us much further ..

Why shud oldies retire when they are still performing?If not Dravid we might be losing by margin of 300-400 instead of 200 or so. It wud be even more shameful.I think we need to give chance to Pujara and Kohli. And drop some 2 non-performing guys.Kohli has shown potential in onedays,Pujara is not given enough chances.

In this series as a Batsman Dravid did very well...LAxman also did a decent job....though sachin & yuvraj got 1/2 centuries i am not impressed.....

Many ppl predicted test performance of the national team would suffer when IPL was started. This pretty much also why England gets its ass kicked in football because all the players are cashing in with the premier league.
I know some ppl that like test matches and intls but they absolutely hate IPL. Why ? you like cricket now you can watch more. no they say.
I thought IPL would be a good nursery for young talent. You might not get to make the national team but at least you can get to play in a club. More opportunity now.
so overall situaton should in theory be little better with IPL.

Oh Come On bro, Its not a Nursery, its a Graduation for Young Players and Graduation in earning Money. Bcoz of this IPL, Players now have to bribe selection board for Ranji's . And Once they are selected, IPL owners are sitting there to bid on them. IPL had spoiled the defination and maligned the sports spirit of Cricket.
