I had purchased android phone 8 months back, after that i opted for Vodafone live (mobile connect was costly at that time)
I got apn from there customer service for using Vodafone live.
All apps and market were not at all working.
I was able to surf the net on the go.
over a period of time same apn started to work with all apps , some apps got updated and then there was a bill of huge charges @ 10p/10kb
i wrote a complaint regarding this to Vodafone care requesting to revert charges ( i was using debug mode to install the apps from the computer)
where in they refuse the charges.
Meanwhile i asked them to port my number. But they transfer the call to back office and gave me the 99 Rs for 1 gb Vodafone connect plan.
This plain never got activated.Customer service people told me to go to Vodafone shop as we can not offer this plan/and any other gprs plan. Also Vodafone started to block my all call to customer care.
So i decided to go in trai for some help.
I got a one person email on trai page who was from consumer group. this guy help me and forwarded this complaint to Vodafone. Next day i got call from Vodafone reverting with this reply

Android mobile phones are not compatible with Vodafone live i.e. it is not compatible for the Wap browser.· However, usage of certain applications like YouTube, video/ music streaming, tickers on HTML sites, handset applications and MMS which uses Vodafone Live! as access point and will be charged @ 10/10KB.
· Also, some application auto refresh /update by connecting through the WAP gateway (Wireless Application Protocol) i.e. Vodafone Live!

Till today Vodafone has not register a complaint and not given a complaint number. They have not activated the plan.

port out and go to mtnl

@popcorn i have done the same thing(for some other reason)@sumit if u want to unleash the full power of android, then use 3g connection. As vodafone hasnt got a good 2g connection, 3g is a distant dreamHere is my latest mtnl speedtestConnection Type: HsdpaServer: New DelhiDownload: 1.72 MbpsUpload: 0.35 MbpsPing: 109 ms

OK after series of communications with Vodafone representative I concluded that
1. You will get stereo type response on emails, where Vodafone will reiterate that they will not listen to you.
2.They will reply only to the specific part in there email .
3.They have created some appellate authority like nodal officers where in you will get same reply.

Recently i received reply that TO activate Vodafone mobile connect Specially i have to visit there store.

kind regards,

Mr unhappy from your help

Are you on prepaid/postpaid? You shouldn't have to got to a Vodafone store to get VMC activated. Just call 111... Select the option for data services, select option to talk to executive, request activation of the VMC plan you want. Alternatively, you could also check the Vodafone website for the SMS activation code for the VMC plan you want. SMS the code in the format specified and the service should be activated. But in my experience with Vodafone I've seen that things seem to get done faster/efficiently if you visit a store. If you feel your issue is still not resolved, send a detailed email to the Nodal Officer. The contact details are available on their website. Or gotTo their head office & meet the Nodal Officer face to face. That definitely gets things moving. I am speaking from experience. Vodafone's email support will not resolve any issues for you. They just know how to send you canned responses. In a recent interaction with them I had emailed with a request to change billing cycle for one of my numbers. They sent me a response after 5 days to let me know they can't change it to the cycle I had picked and asked me to pick one from the one's they listed. I sent subsequent responses asking the reason for declining my request. But all I got from them was a copy-paste of the first response I received from them. They did that 5 times for the 5 emails I sent - copy pasted the same response from earlier email. That clearly shows that either they do not read your email or just don't think it worth their time to resolve customer issues. After being fed up of this I walked into the Vodafone store at my office and placed the same request. The billing cycle was changed to what I wanted ( and what Vodafone claimed they could not provide) in 24 hrs. This is how Vodafone Customer Care (and the customer care departments of most other operators) operate. The customer seems to be the last priority in their books. Happy to Help??? Really?? Happy to Frustrate is more like it. Sad but true...

the vodafone bots are useless. no point to keep them in this forum. only one thing they copy paste. no real solution with them. useless abd wastes time of our users.

here are some of replies i received from Vodafone after this they have purposely blocked internet and now they are not accepting my request( i had paid all bills in time)Dear Mr. XXXX,Thank you for your email dated 18/07/11, regarding Vodafone mobile number XXXXXXX. We would like to inform the below mentioned details: We wish to inform you that Vodafone Live @ Rs.49 is active on the number which provides you free usage of 5 MB and 30 MMS. If the settings are saved or are already predefined in the handset by the manufacturer, you will be able to use Vodafone Live service and will be charged as per 10 paisa / 10 KB. Usage of certain applications like YouTube, video/ music streaming, tickers on HTML sites, handset applications and MMS which uses Vodafone Live! as access point There are also certain applications which when downloaded keeps on retrieving data from the server at frequent time interval and also certain web pages which auto refresh itself. This minimal data transfer leads to frequent billing of 10paisa /10KB. In case correct procedure of logging out from surfing session is not followed, connectivity with the server does not get terminated, hence leading to data transfer at frequent time interval. Hence it is advisable to log-out properly before terminating a session. We request you to send the SMS “CAN VL” to 111 (toll free SMS) if you wish to get Vodafone Live @ Rs. 49 to be deactivated. We would be unable to reverse the charges towards Vodafone Live usage for bill dated 01/06/11In case you need further assistance, please do call or email us. We’ll do our best to help you.Happy to help,--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Dear Mr. XXXX,We regret the delay in reverting to you.
