There will be easier methods than what l33t suggested like cloning or imaging I want to transfer from a hdd to a ssd - Hard-Disks - Storage , transferring hdd os to ssd - Google Search , i don't use a ssd so have no experience with this.

----------

Which brand SSD is it? if its intel you can use this tool to test the ssd for errors http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18455 this will only work with intel ssd

According to the kingston guide you would have received free acronis software for doing the migration , if you did not receive it with the ssd, there will be a download link on the kingston site.

They stopped it last year. 🙁

Hi all, Few statements. On a brand new memory stick, running memtest 86+ (latest version) 3-4 times sequentially should be more than enough to see if the memory stick is failing or not. The best way to try out memtest 86+ is to individually check each memory stick on one specific slot . I am guessing that the system has at least three memory slots if not more. So make one and test all the three individually. This makes sure that the slot is good and the data is going back and forth properly. After all the three are done on slot one, do it for slot two and slot three. I have been on machines where one of the slots was an issue or/and one of the memory was bad. The best time to do something like this is on holiday where you have patience. Have some light music at the background so do not get stressed. This is basically to make sure that you have no suspicions about bad memory at least at start (after few years memory can become corrupt, dust and other things). As far as SSD's are concerned, I have heard quite a few horror stories so would not really go there. I have seen quite a few SSD gurus eating their own words in the last 2-3 years so things are still not perfect there. Btw how much did the 64 GB Kingston SSD cost you and what sort of warranty you got for it ?

So now, when I login , to the OS it shows me the SSD there but as soon as I right click it it gets disconnected.Things tried:1)Update BIOS, no luck.2)Changed SATA cables, ports.

I sent the SSD for repair like 2 days back no clue when I'm getting it back.Purchased a new OCZ Agility 3 SATA 3 SSD (60 GB) in the meanwhile, Thanks for all those who helped, I mean it.

I thought of installing my steam games on kingston ssd, so i connect it with the cables and all stuff and my computer isn't detecting it, any solutions?
