This site has been blocked as per instructions from Department of Telecom #indiablocks

nope...some of my friends also hving airtel conn can access it....strange how some site r being blocked ....quite on an individual scale .......like i can open the above mentioned site while jason can't open globeofblogs while i can.
 
thats true and changing DNS doesnt work.
 
cud it bee something in our router......????? co this thing differs frm person to person....its not like no one on airtel can access these site...the blockage has gotta be frm our side only...not on server side.
 
i was just on d.t's and found out airtel has started to block desitorrents and link-removed , though i have't had any probs till now but if this happens they can kiss my a\v goodbye
 
Both working for me as well. I do use Treewalk as the DNS not Airtel's own DNS servers, could that be the problem?
 

ye they r blocking sites like desitorrent etc since they r doing speed test and people tend to download more from these site just confirmed from a airtel guy who came to my house to analyse problem he said site will open after 2-3 days .dont know what is happening to airtel for whom sites r not blocked they will be blocked soon..
 
this is bad they bandwidth we get has been paid for no matter what we do with it...what do they expect ulimited users should keep browsing whole day ..then whats the point of unlilited packagesvery disheartening that attitude of cable wala to major broadband isp is same in this case..ie pay them and do not use their services
 
if i sell you a knife. that does not mean you have the right to kill someone using the knife.the broadband companies are surely not providing you bandwidth to conduct all the pirated illegal activities on the net.

true...but if i do kill someone, u won't and shouldn't be held liable for that...plus as an individual, i have the right to decide to what use i want to put that knife on...or u sell me the knife with the condition that i shouldn't kill anyone with that...and in that case, i'll think and decide if i really want to buy the knife 😀

both the sites are working fine for meperhaps because i dont download stuff from there (almost never)u know i m a private torrent sites kinda guy!!!
 
Hmm... apart from downloading 24x7....... i sometimes use online radio, stream other media. Of wait that is not possible, coz the speeds suck. So bottom line, i download 24x7
 
i agree with wizard.... i too keep my net on for 15 - 18 hrs on holidays, with the internet radio on in the background.... For the service provider, I'm downloading continuously then.....n these people have set the speed (some kind of programming, i donn know how they are able to do so) if u're r downloading continuously, u're speed are set back to original, n no more 2x at night, until n unless you reboot the modem, because of which I'm not able to enjoy 192 kbps stations (in the day, i somehow compromise with 128 kbps stations)
