Hi guysin my room the connection plan is 64kbps. but it is showing in icon tray as 100.0Mbpscan you tell me what is this 100mbps. but the downloading transfer rate is max10-12kbps avergely8kbps.i am iin confuse completely. why it is that much of less speed?but in my office in icontray it is showing 10mbps,but the downloading rate is 180kbps. but i dont know the connection speed of my office.can you tell me in detail
 
the connection speed shown at the system tray Icon reflects the speed of your LAN / USB connection .It is the maximum speed that can be accomodated thru the LAN or USB . if your connection plan is 64kbps then 8KBPS is theexpected speed . 10 - 12 KBPS is more than your plan .if you are getting 180 kilo bits per second transfer ratethen the connection could be at 256kbps plan .
 
just remember one rulewhatever your ISP tells you divide that number with 8 and you will get that speed. Rest just forget !!!! this rule is best one for noobs!eg128kbps=16KBps256kbps-32KBps64kbps=8KBpsnow you will start liking your connections !!!
