Assuming the user is

[*]Using Windows 7
[*]Subscribed to beam plan with connection speed of 10mbps and above.
[*]Don't have Wireless router (in case of wireless router, set PPPoP in the router itself) and the connection is being used in single computer.
[/list]
STEP -1

Open you beam login portal and log out from the service.

STEP -2

Assuming you has set the LAN configuration to automatic mode

I prefer using Google DNS, if you don’t want to use Google DNS select the “Obtain DNS server automatically” option.

[*]Open command prompt with Administrative Privileges. Type CMD in the run and then presses Ctrl-Shift-Enter.
[*]Once in Console, release your IP by using ipconfig /release .
[*]After releasing the IP, type
Code:
ipconfig /renew
to get a new IP assigned by beam.
[/list]

STEP -3

Right click in the LAN icon in system notification areas and click to “open Network and Sharing Center”

STEP -4

Click, setup a new connection or network

STEP -5

Select Connect to the internet option

STEP -6

Click setup a new connection and select Broadband (PPPoE)

STEP -7

Fill your Login credential as mentioned in the image and Click connect

STEP -8
That it, you are done.
You can do extra setting if you wish to, like navigate to Control Panel --->> Network and Internet--->>Network Connections and set the PPPoE connection as default.
You can further go to connection settings of the PPPoE dialer & set automatic dial-up on system startup and hide the dialing screen, autodial when line dropped, etc, etc,

Are you typing the right command ?
https://youtube.com/watch?v=KzYAJXXkaiI&NR=1

what error you got?
Did they gave you an IP address? you mean to say hard-coded-Static-IP :O
AFAIK for new portal, IP address should be in 183.83.XXX.XXX but it seems you are in different protocol address.

actually what happened is that while those guys who came to install beam fiber wire to my house..connected the fiber wire to my computer and opened connection properties and then entered some Ip address....and when i asked what if i reinstall my OS.?! so those guys wrote down the IP address and username and password on a piece of paper and gave......

and now for example when i open a website in FF...i get 24 online page....after entering username and password...when i try to open a new page in firefox i used to get 24online client page again!! >.< so i used to open chrome and then use my net.....
apparently i solved this problem by mistake....

first i opened FIREFOX and entered my username and password....then i opened a new tab and then i cleared all history( Ctrl + shift+delete ) and then when i open any new websites..its opening!! 😛 😛 :cool4: :suicide::cursing:

can you confirm it..?! :O

am getting this error when releasing my ip (ipconfig /release )
you will not be able to be release your IP as you are forcing you LAN card to use a particular IP.

I found this link, see this:- https://broadband.forum/others/16345-24-online-client/
Seems that you are in their old protocol somehow. Check if this trick is working on your connection :- Tips and Tricks: BEAM CABLE SPEED BOOST (Hacking)

Thing are contradictory in your case (based on the information i got from beam technicians)
1. you have a static IP (which is only for business use & not for domestic)
2. IF anyone has Static IP he doesn't need to enter his login and password to browse online.

My question is:-
1. does any that page mentioned beam cable or anything related to beam cable in you login portal?
2. How do you check your data usage ?
3. Have you changed your password after getting it from beam ?

I am not sure, but i am not confident that you are directly under beam, rather some sub-ISP under beam.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you tried the step shown in my first post ? is that working for you ?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On now come the technical part.
(you should have atlest shown two parts of the ip addresses & there is no harm is showing DNS)
As far as i remember Airtel DNS starts from 202, so probably 203 belongs to airtel too
im not able to figure out what 172.XX DNS are
but it does shown up whing tracing the route to Google DNS

Code:
Tracing route to google-public-dns-a.google.com [8.8.8.8]over a maximum of 30 hops: 1

actaully first i opened internet properties and clicked "select IP address automatically" option and then i typed that " ipconfig /release" command!!

yea..even in that form its metioned...check if user wants a static IP...i asked that guy and he said static IP is provided...

i need to provide ID and password everytime i log on

1. does any that page mentioned beam cable or anything related to beam cable in you login portal?
nope...all it says is 24online client

2. How do you check your data usage ?
under that 24online client banner..there's an option "my account" ..i click that and i get all my usage details...
(Ctrl + mouse wheel up if u cant see the pic clearly..)

Hi .. http://portal.beamtele.com/ is an intranet site.. (not internet)

I know 24x7 from my old days @ Beam (few years ago).. and from what I knw it is mostly used by local cable internet walas..

I remember my technician telling them Beam stopped using 24x7 sometime back... now they only use http://portal.beamtele.com/

PS: I am @ office so can't see most of the images (blocked by our firewall).. shall update more on this after i get home...

I hope I dont sound silly.. but cant see the images so have to ask this... were you able to release-renew your ip? I am asking this because I did try to do this but it dint work (tried all possible way including repair the lan and a software etc)... but failed

yes, i can release & renew easily.
But by renewing I wont get new IP, instead the same old IP will be re-assigned (new IP get assigned to me every 7-8th day)
Are you running cmd in elevated mode?

One more thing to check if ipconfig /release has been successfully worked or not.. once you did /release wait for 10 second and again run /release .. it should throw you an error that no network adapter found or similar error.

i remember some guy from my area trying to get a new beam connection in our area and was blocked my local cablewallahs.....will check other sites and update....

BTW i did use cmd with administrative privileges...:/ still ip didnt get release..

yea.. i tried this too..waited for 5-10 secs and tried again..no such luck.. :S

and i got this new doubt....since u ppl connect to beam portal....your ip address is automatically configured rite..?!( i mean "get new ip automatically " option is enabled in internet properties window rite..?!)
with my connection i should enter the ip given by my beam local wallah...so ..i get one permanent ip right..!?!?? WTH.?!

This didn't sound good. I guess you are not connceted to beam directly .. rather a proxy ISP from your local cable-walah

Like this.
