Using Personal WiFi router with Tikona

It is compatible with both Belkin and D-Link, as well as Netlinx.

I use a Belkin N150 at home and it works seamlessly. No configuration required except the SSID and security setups at your end.

Friendes, now it is clear that Tikona service can be integrated with our own wifi routers but I have one question. Can I use my wifi android tab without switching on PC or laptop (for login to Tikona). It is not fair to keep a PC or Laptop ON when I don't have to work on these (many times I want to use internet only on Tab thro wifi).

The process is not that elaborate though!

I just took the LAN cable coming from the roof top antenna into the WAN port of my router (Linksys WRT54G2 ). Then on my router config. page I set it to DHCP & manually set the DNS values used by Tikona (as my router config. doesnt have the option of automatic DNS) so in your case you can select "Obtain DNS Automatically" (I checked your router manual, you have that option) You can also enable MAC ID clone (it will clone your laptop MAC id to the router) Then save your settings.

Then connect your laptop to your router through LAN cable or WiFi & then go to http://1.254.254.254 on your browser & login with your Tikona ID.

every one is talking about that it is possible to have tikona wifi through personal router but I am not able configure it through binatone DT845W 🙁. Can any one help us in solving it?

I have a tikona wired connection and a Netgear wifi router. I have configured the router to create a wireless network in my home. It was easy to connect to it from my laptop (ubuntu OS) and then to the internet via the 1.254.254.254 login page.
However, when I tried to connect to the internet via my wifi connection from my Samsung Galaxy S Android mobile, it didn't work! It detects the wifi network and also connects to it after keying in the password. But when I try to browse the web using a browser like Dolphin, it doesn't work. Also, if I type http://1.254.254.254, it doesn't work.

Totally frustrated y this, I called the Tikona Customer Care who carelessly rejected to help me because I'm using a personal router- they would only help if I bought their router!

Luckily, I tried an app called wifi manager. It detected the wifi connection and upon entering the password it connected to the network and I'm also able to browse the internet, which I was not able to do earlier with the android stock wifi manager.

Please try Wifi Manager app if you are facing a similar issue.

Hi, i have tried the steps mentioned, but when i try to connect more than 2 devices at the same time i am getting "no of sessions exceeded" error.

Are u able to connect multiple devices at the same time ? If yes please let me know how / what settings need to be done on the router.

you can use "dynamic" mode for any router, its working fine.just dont tell tikona that you are using it :adoration:

I have a D-Link [DSL-2640T] wireless router. I have read all the comments, and have understood how to configure my own wireless router with Tikona wireless broadband. But the only problem I'm facing is that the cable that is coming from the roof is not fitting in my routers ADSL slot. What can I do about it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Can anybody want to share tikona id? Please PM me. I need it for one month.My two ids are terminated and so, I have to set up another one. For that I have to pay 500 again as installation cost.If it is under wrong thread, suggest me correct one. I will delete if it is not allowed.

There is nothing much to setup.

From Tikona Receiver to power socket you get a CAT5 cable and then again from power adapter another CAT5 cable should go to the yellow port at the back of the router.

You can connect any other system using CAT5 cables to the router to use the LAN. No configuration required.

For Wifi also, no special setup is required except that you need to set the SSID name and access passwords for security of your wifi network.

To start using internet, as usual go to the Tikona login page on your device and login using the Tikona login/password and you are connected to the internet.
