There is nothing called unlimited in Hosting.Unmetered Yes but Not Unlimited. The Word Unlimited had been misused by many Shared Hosts.Try uploading Gb's of Content or Using Lots of Bandwidth. You will be kicked out for overusing the Resources.

I also spoke to them a few days ago and soon realized that the ones in support here in India are n00bs. 😛 I have several hosting at various companies around the world including dedicated servers. But to be fair enough if you ask me that is it possible to run 50K pageviews on a hatchling plan then I would say yes. It is possible in two scenarios mainly. If you are just using a basic html site without using any database. But then hardly many people use such a site. Second scenario is if you are using a more high resource platform like Wordpress with minimal plugins and with W3 Total Cache installed and configured properly. Then you can use the free services at CloudFlare.com to get the benefits of Cloud hosting and the load would significantly reduce on your own hosting as CloudFlare would serve their cached versions of the page and replicate it as per the nearest location of their servers. So, it is surely possible though may not be always advisable as a 50K pageview website would earn quite well. 🙂

thats what they are claiming. service tax is of course extra.

heh. not good.

this forum should easily kill any generic shared hosting plan. cloudflare is mostly good for static content. it does not really cache blog/forum post pages... it is more about working as a CDN for images and other files. though it does sort of improve the overall performance of the site. but it cannot replace a native caching plugin like W3TC.

I agree. That is why I said both W3TC and CloudFlare. Infact, W3TC has recently added the CloudFlare API option in their configuration page and I am using it on a few of my websites. A forum is more difficult especially with high concurrent traffic but a high traffic blog is possible on a shared hosting. I also own dedicated servers but I am saying about if it is possible though I would personally not suggest a high traffic blog to be hosted on a shared hosting.

And then there a more scenarios too. Like if the host is using Litespeed or Nginx then even a high traffic forum leave apart a blog might not load their servers that badly. There are many scenarios and it would take a lot of time to explain everything. It would depend on the website but yes it is possible in many cases and would depend on various factors. A blog at least can be easily accommodated if needed though I would personally not advise it as the right option.

blogs are easy because the content can be served as html. only the comment section is sort of dynamic and you can fix that by using disqus or livefyre. forum on the other hand are a toughie. i have tried several caching plugins but none seems to help out. the content has to be fresh on every load. and that sort of makes it a much more processor intensive platform. switching to nginx might be the next best move for me. i am tired of paying so much for such a powerful server. i can easily use a more optimized server with lower configuration and probably get better results.
