Wearing headgear and latex gloves, mmmmm but the issue was that guy peeing in the pani puri, right? How is that solved?

Lol That is what I was hinting at all this time (from the first post). Hence 'Considering what happened, the latex gloves if used are not visible. :001_tongue:' was mentioned in first post. Coz that was the root cause of the problem but since the gloves cannot be seen, are we to assume that its covering that location?? :fingers-crossed::ishock::tremble:

What good are gloves with paani puri ?

The whole point is the water they use isn't always safe. And thats been the case for a long time now.

See post #9. One guy was caught using a different type of water. The YouTube link is given on this thread :001_tongue:

lol these pheri walas can't leave their mobile shop to have a leak :001_tongue:

Maybe that explains why the latex gloves are not visible

Oh, i know about that, but this is just the talk of the moment.

THe point remains that you can never be sure of the water used. Whether its safe or not. Lots of food poisoning occurs due to low water quality. Can't buy pannipuri from some guy on the road, only from an indoor establishment.

To give a bit of background for those who missed it in the media. A girl from Thane filmed (on her mobile phone) a pani (pee) puri vendor pissing into a lota he uses for his pani puri from her house window. Some people were actually wondering if it was an additional flavoring in the recipe 😱!! I believe its on YouTube now 🙂 YouTube - pani puri vendor

To me looks like good propaganda to rid the street of food sellers isn't it.

They've been selling food on the street for centuries but only now this video is supposed to change ppl's minds ? no not only that but enough to go about beating others as well.

There is such a thing as karma is there not.

Yeah, but ppl still want to go out to eat. They do go to their favorite joints.

A good rule of thumb is turnover.

that is something of speculation...

Some may consider it the talk of the moment but its at the back of everyone's mind in Mumbai when they eat out. We must remember this video was taken by a young girl who no one believed when she brought it to the attention of the adults.

Let me clarify two things
First that for those who don’t eat on the street it was a huge joke to laugh at (rightly or wrongly). More so because of the silly behavior of some politicians who were fishing in troubled waters.
& for those who eat on the street it was a time to get angry & curse about our hygiene standards.
Second for all those who think that eating from indoor establishments is a better option, there has been sample testing (on many occasions in the past & reported in the newspapers) of foodstuff’s from the street vendors to five star Hotels & ALL food samples had E-coli in it. These tests have been done in Delhi & Mumbai with same results. For the uninitiated E-coli is found in the small intestine. To put it crudely, it’s found in human Sh**.

E-coli has been reported in our vegetables in Mumbai which is not surprising considering that a lot of it is grown along the railway tracks which is watered by the gutter water found in the mullahs & gutters alongside the railway tracks. In general its very difficult to control the quality in our agricultural sector

It isn't 'in your vegetables' the vegetables are tainted with it on the outside because it most likely was washed with tainted water. So you're going to have to wash them well before consuming. The other point is you also can never have raw vegetables in restaurants here, forget salads, only cooked stuff is safe.

But yeah e.coli because of contamination with sewage is common. Hell, it happened on my street when ppl start digging up the road, they crack pipes and the problem was the sewage & water pipes run adjacent to each other, bingo that's where the contaminaiton occurs. The sewage line was promptly moved to the other side of the road and the problem is over now.

Why are both these lines next to each other ? because it would have cost half as much to lay both lines when the job was done decades ago 🙁

Hmm You could be right but I am not sure if the E-Coli is 'in' or 'on' the vegetables. I am worried about other toxic gunk that is in the gutter water found next to the tracks in Mumbai which would definitely get into the veggies & into the food chain. Gone are the days when one could say salads are good for health or even milk for that matter.:suicide: Recently just before last Diwali huge quantities (in tonnes) of Mava found found which was totally adulterated with toxic stuff.:fear2:😱

Impossible. Consider that manure is used as fertiliser. Plants take what they need to grow. They do not take anymore. If they don't find what they need they die. And if that happens then nothing can be sold or any gain made. If plants are growing & thriving next to 'toxic' water then they are getting what they need. Plants are not like animals and don't get a stomach ache. They are very fussy with what they need.

Therefore there is nothing to worry about in the plant 'food chain'. The chemicals used are mostly pestcide to keep food from spoiling or being eaten by bugs. You are expected to wash your vegetables & fruits. This is another point where you can't be sure what you get in a commercial establishment. Whether they clean it enough or use contaminated water to begin with. As always the rule is cooked is safe, raw is not.

So look forward to more exposes that discourage against this sort of behaviour. You should become more confident rather than scared. I don't eat salads for health i just like the taste, and i eat a lot of it, at home only ofc 🙂

Getting back to that cellphone video. You think every panipuri wala does this ? On the face of it this is just one guy. ONE GUY!

How many panipuri walas in mumbai or even India for that matter. This is basically bunk, its like saying just because one guy did it they are all guilty.
