I want to know how often power cuts happen in your area or your part of the country. In my new area, I live in New Delhi right now and power cuts happen at least 2 hours in a week. Yours?

around 1 hrs everyday in installments.

Well I feel the power situation in delhi has improved dramatically following privatisation......no exact figure i can give

Then give an estimate buddy. Yeah the power situation has improved since last summer, but we still get power cuts. I believe west bengal has the most improved power situation in India.

It comes in waves, there are good months and bad months. In good months the power cuts are few but in bad months they are frequent.

It was cold as hell recently; in Poona the load shedding started with winter.
Apparently it isn't people with ACs and fans on full blast, it's the industries.

3 hours a day, 5 days a week. I have a laptop + power backup, but obviously Sify does not backup it's hubs and switches, so no internet at that time.

The CTO dude told me that they actually tried some sort of backup, but that thing failed...

rains are the worst... hell the room i was sleeping in is filled with water. i woke up 10 min back half drentched. 🙁

Surpried though, how India is advanced in some areas but still lagging a 100 years behind in another. Yeah you're right sush.. rains make the power go off even more. s*cks though.

india is a diverse country. some areas do not even have electricity. so there is no question of powercuts. 😉

Dude, don't dare diss India's electricity. Its a premium service offered for the enjoyment of your luxury.Lovely quality of transmission that we have, summer bequeths power cuts (due to water level shortage in reservoir), and rainy season too does the same (because the rain might fall on transmission cables and electrocute someone).Winter months we have like 2 hours off in a day - right in the heat of the noon sometimes. Bottomline is 2 hours of no-go everyday round the year.YAY to the motherland.
