My Experience with HD-DVR

I requested the upgrade from SD STB to HD-DVR on Thursday to get it in time for the World Cup final. Though I had to make a few calls to the CC to follow it up, they just made it after the first couple of overs. I am quite satisfied with this request. I get Jumbo HD pack(NGC HD, Star Plus HD, ESPN HD & Star Cricket HD) for one month free, though the last two are only based on events. Also I couldn't find a difference between Start Plus SD & HD channels. Probably they are up-scaling this. I have provided this feedback to the CC. I will update this thread if they get back to me. Hence this leaves me effectively only with NGC HD. I am told that the Movies Now HD will be added to this pack in few days. I would rather take the Movies Now HD for Rs 30(incl tax) per month rather than the Jumbo HD for Rs 55 per month. This feedback is also provided to the CC and the response is that the technical department will call back to check, though I was not provided any complaint#. Barring the above couple of issues, my experience with the HD-DVR has been good so far. I will try my best to keep this thread informed in the coming months on the performance.

Dont worry RDTV(Reliance digital) technical department is full of lazy & lame people (Coz inspite of correcting they will increase your panic". so you will have to stick with what you have.

@livelively - I was one of the early birds with the Reliance STB. I do find an improvement with the CC. However, with the technical department, I am yet to experience. I was not surprised that the CC did not know what is lip-sync issue. But I do not expect the same from the technical department. I need to wait to provide that feedback.

i have hd dvr and i have no problem with lip sync :thumb:
i m recording lots of lots english and hindi shows and movies ... i have no problem with lip sync

could be a one-off issue. I recorded the World Cup Finals presentation ceremony from Star Cricket HD. I had this problem. I did not find this issue on the news channels that are on SD. I will have to wait for another match to reproduce this scenario. Thanks for your feedback.

record 1 program on national geographic HD and check that you have problem in that or not ????

hmmm... after reading feedback from HD users, I am thinking to wait until ExHD(Extreme HD...after that no HD is possible, bcoz SuperHD is on the way to loot the customers) :grin:

I will check NGC HD. However I will have to wait for a live HD feed as well to confirm that this is an one-off issue.

Though the HD channels are less in number, I did not want to miss the World Cup finals. Hence I went for HD. That was the best alternative I could afford in place of watching it at the stadium. 🙂

They allowed just recording only 1 programe at a time. Is it true? I am talking about RDTV DVR.

Is the lip-sync issue discussed at the start of the thread, still persisting? I need to know this, to verify whether its an issue with Star's broadcast, or with a particular DTH. I m facing it in D2h ryt now.
