I was going thru the VF website for the 3G BB plans here:

Vodafone 3G USB Stick: 3G USB Modem - Internet access for laptop & Desktop | Delhi & NCR

VF seems to be offering 'unlimited' access for 900 bucks. Also, they have a plan stated for around Rs 7K/pa with unltd usage. I called up CC & the guy over there said that we are offering speed of 21 mbps to select locations in NCR (im frm Delhi) for Rs 500 pm and there is no download limit. How cud this be possible???? So what this effectively means is that I buy a 3G dongle with an initial charge of the stick of 1600 bucks and then get speeds upto 21 mbps per month for just 500 bucks with no download limit!

This plan is for South Delhi, Central Del & Gurgaon as per CC.

Should i be excited? 20+ mbps @ 500 bucks 'unltd' - can anyone plz confirm their experience with this if they have gone for it in Delhi? I am most interested in listening to people's experiences with these plans.

This is only for 2G data and as a trial, available for 3G till 15th April. After that, they are going to launch dedicated 3G plans which will not have any Unlimited tariff...

Well these plans look good, but the usual info is missing. I don't intend to be a pessimist but this page doesn't mention anything about the speed like other providers would normally do - 3.6 or 7.2 mbps or even the advertised 21 mbps. These seem to be the old EDGE plans, since they had actually launched 3G sticks even before the 3G auction last year. They claimed that one could use it to access 3G abroad but not in India understandbly. If these plans are indeed true, Vodafone will file for bankruptcy soon, since they will never recover the money spent on securing the 3G license. Besides, the Vodafone-Hutch deal to escape tax was dragged to court and has further dented their balance sheet, since the matter is sub-judice. 🙂

Yep, the plans are very old and the page as well... They are not saying that you will get the 3g speec but they are saying you will get 3g stick... So don't be trapped, I have seen this page number of time in last 1 year and it is still same...

Don't expect anything good from Vodafone.......They are just good for nothing, GOD knows why they bid for 3G when they knew they can't provide affordable services.

I know one thing they are really good at, infact the best....................sucking money from customers 😛

I think Vodafone is one of the best in

1) Coverage
2) Customer Servicing
3) Postpaid plans (cannot say prepaid - because i have never used any prepaid from any operator)

Just remember there is no such thing as A FREE LUNCH.

Above mentioned 3 points cost something ....and the same cost is passed on to the customer.

IMHO

I was offered to buy a Vodafone stick stating the same unlimited plan for 3G as well. I took the stick. When I found out that this plan is applicable for 2G network only I immediately asked them for refund which they refused. I approached there Nodal office which assured me that this plan will work on 3G network as well and I took that in writing in Email. Currently I am recieving 2G speeds only which is very poor and am waiting for 3G network in my area. However I dont trust Vodafone as they are the biggest cheats you can imagine. I will aprroach consumer forum if they refuse to give me same plan in 3G network when the network is in my area.

Vodaphone data card is capable of over 5 Mbps .If their 3G service is not available in your area, then GPRS speeds only.
You should buy data card from current 3 G provider like BSNL,Airtel ,Tata Doco mo,Idea etc.
Any awy Voda data card is worth the money ( Rs 1600)
Voda speeds in chennai are very good.

There r two different points im talking about.Point 1u knw i get different speed in different room, its like my hall room and bed room r connected to two different voda towers which is quite posible.. till now i was using vodafone 3g dongle in my bedroom and i was get a speed(max) of 3.5mbps with a very a very good signal of hspa+ network, and with almost same or even less network of HSPA+ I get about 7-8mbps in my hall room. well just in the same house i have two different towers with two different speeds. Point no 2.My main issue is that i m using vodaofn 599 Unlimited 3g dongle plan. And these A*#*##*# have set a credit limit. I have called everywhere, 116, 111 198, 55666. No1 one has come up with a solution. Now the problem is they charge u an unbillied amount which is like 10kb/10p. It goes on till ur bill is generated and its waved off since im on 599 unlimited. Now i have a credit limit of Rs.2300.which is like just 23mb? haha.. omg even i calculated it just now. after which they barr ur services asking for a payment to start the services. Now i asked for a solution, they r like "submit ur income proof so tht we can extend ur credit limit to 5000 and set ur billing account to a direct debit, then u can extend it to another 2000." What the heck im gona do with rs7000 which is actually 70mb. Hw dumb can Vodafone BE!

10kb/10 P => 1000 kb/1000 P => 1 Mb = 10 RupesThus 2300 Rs = 230 MB ( not 23 Mb)But yeah ... we get your point. You can do 2 things1) Email the problem to Vodafone (email gets far better response than calling the call center in complicated issues)2) Deposit 3-4 thousand (refundable ofcourse) with Vodafone to increase your credit limit

dont knw hw i got tht wrong, but even 230MB is too less, instead i would go for 2gb plan for rs.399. well even after depositing they said max i can keep is Rs.5000 or somethng. But whats the use of depositing? they shouldnt have started such a thing or should not keep a check of unbilled amount in such scenarios..

i call vodafone custmer care 111, i talk about 3g usb stick. they says its unlimtied free, i ask him about cradit limit, they says if u kick ur cradit limit then install a software service INC on this stick then no disconnect and u use free, he says this is true and vodafone cc dont cheat u bealive us, so i agree and i buy this stick , he says our service man come ur house in 1 hour and pay cash payment 1600 to him, plz fast tell me its really true , and how many gb i use with 3g stick, plz time less

vodafone will never send anyone to your place asking for cash payment...they accept checks or they will ask you to pay at their vodafone centers....
