Ricky Ponting finally realised that he was a good captain only in likes of Warne, McGrath, Hayden etc.

captain? he was just like the driver of motorboat when maximum of work was done by engine itself(like Warne, McGrath, gilchrist etc of aus). Now he got real 'feedback of his captaincy.
I remember one quote said by tony greig about ponting about 3-4 yrs back. "Even my mom can captain this side"..this is proved today ..

From SL perspective, I am looking at 3-4 years later when Dilshan, Jaya & Sanga will leave... They need to start planning soon. I dont see them playing beyond 2015... and even that might be difficult cos all will be 37-38. Ofcourse there might be guys not getting opportunities because of them & slowly in the next 3-4 years we might see them resting more often to groom youngsters. Also I dont see them persisting with Samaraweera & Silva for long as they are also in 30s

SL will be in same state that Australia are right now.. all great players like Vaas, Murli, Sanga, Dilshan, Jaysuriya going one after other.
