Looking for a new connection, it struck me as weird that when you recharge with Airtel prepaid, you actually get much less value than what you pay (in the name of "Processing Fee"... whatever that is). So here is some @n@1ysis.... pretty much self explanatory... The last two columns show what you actually pay per minute on a regular call and on local SMS (i.e. in real world rupees NOT talk-time rupees).View attachment 88Here's a chart for those that need to visualize it:View attachment 89Does this seem fair?

not at all. i hate to get prepaid airtel for my mom. but it is still better than arguing with reliance guys over inflated bills.

I hate Airtel......they allot less bandwidth per subscriber as compared to others....resulting in dropeed calls and voice breaks even when u have 2-3 bars showing

better than BSNL which never accepts call during peak hours and sms are not delayed 24 hours.

I think in prepaid scenario, BSNL is the best bet. They are installing a large no of BTS's. Their signal is also full at all times. They may take a little time to tune up their services but at the end would emerge the winner. Largest network, lowest tariff and roaming charges are in its favour. Shun Airtel-the cheater and go for BSNL. I'm going to take an excel connection this month, switching from hutch. What do you think guys ? 😉

BSNL...SMS takes forever to go. I have bad experiences with getting busy tones for people on BSNL... and well... connections are not easily available in the market. You need to go to the BSNL office which is a rather forgetful experience. There is nothing like a customer care department...

This issue should be resolved within 3 months as they increase thier switching capacity and open the voice channels. You can easily get a connection through a relative or acquaintance who is associated with BSNL. 😉 They are to install 6 new SMS gateways. In fact in Kolkata, they have begun to show that a govt. owned enterprise can bounce back. I really mean it ! Also consider their tariff too !

that is the problem. with airtel or hutch i do not need a relative in the company to get a connection.

none actually. i hate airtel coz they send in too many advert sms. and i hate hutch for being too expensive 🙂

Then, whatever remains are idea and BSNL. I hope BSNL has a better coverage over the country. You got to use atleast one GSM service provider !! Isn't it ? Actually I hated BSNL most a few months ago, but their tariff and network improvement in Kolkata has made me to look back. Their service is sure to improve and are also outsourcing their helpdesk to provide better support. I hope you understand my point. B)

TATA Indicom is the best prepaid sevice available.

Cool analysis mate Most of the GSM Prepaid service are all shit and outright loot. Compared to all this I find TATA Indicom TruePaid the best among all Prepaid services.
