Planning to go for Tikona from MTNL Broadband - Your feedback required for Mumbai

Hi guys,I am on mtnl 495 combo plan with 320 kbps unlimited. I roughly use 8 GB in month on mtnl.Tikona has a 8 GB plan with 2mbps and then 512 kbps unlimited if I cross 8GB for a month. The cost is 799+tax.please guide me how is this broadband service in Mumbai?Currently I do not get a wifi of tikona on my laptop. So i guess they will install a nano staation on my terrace.Let me know can I use my desktop+ wifi laptop+ wifi mobile in that 799 scheme?are there any hidden charges? like sify had a maintance charge?any other inputs would be appreciated..
 
i was thinking about the alternative for BSNL .. but after reading few reviews over here am discouraged to think about tikona ....
 
@popcornTikona service is ok, but may vary according to your location.With nano station, you cannot use wifi facility to connect to internet from your desktop+ wifi laptop+ wifi mobile. It will give you a ethernet(RJ45) port. you can use your own hub/wifi-access-point to use the broadband facility for your wifi devices.Remember broadband service can be used only by two MAC addresses. Otherwise you have to pay 75 monthly or 1500 at once for having @ll_home solutions.There is no hidden charges, service tax extra.Pay your monthly bill online and you will get 2.5% or Rs25/- (whichever is less) discount.First ask for live demo (call: 1800 20 90044), if satisfied with performance go for it.Wisely choose plan, since there are some plans with no installation charges.

I suggest you ask Tikona about the location of the nearest access point. If it isn't close to you (
 
Hello Guys I took the Tikona Broad band connection few months ago. Earlier I felt the service is ok. But after couple of months I had to change my house due to my Job. So I called Tikona customer care to help me shift the connection from my old house to the new one. They asked for some documents which I did provide. But there was no action from their side. Everytime I call them they would some engineer would call me to shift the connection but no one did. After making 20-30 calls to Tikona customer, I finally decided to disconnect the connection. I have not been using the connection since the month of June 2011 but I keep receiving email with the bill every month. Now they are asking me to pay the bill for all the four months for I have not used at all. This is horrible. Why should I pay the bill if I have not used the connection. It is Tikona's mistake for not coming and collecting the device even after making so many calls to them. I am fed up with their emails and bills everymonth. Please do not use tikona. DONOT go for it. THEY ARE NOT CUSTOMER CARE REPS but just few people answering the calls, just repeating the scripts they have been given. DO NOT USE OR GO FOR TIKONA.
 
Yes, they are pathetic. I had taken a 3 months plan and had paid 3713 for the same. Within 20 days I upgraded the plan to 6 months which was costing Rs 5451 all inclusive of taxes. On upgrading the plan they charged me to pay a difference of Rs 2583 which I did paid and then they again pursued me to pay another Rs 584. On raising a complaint on this their executive told me that the system was calculating tax erroneously. Still they tortured me to pay the same. On paying the same and raising a fresh complaint, they assured me to adjust in the next billing cycle of 6 months. They have not made any such adjustment and have sent me a fresh bill of the same amount Rs 5451 for their pre_ulh_c5 plan. On re-raising a complaint on this, they suggested me to change my plan. While following their suggestion, I request for a plan change to prime_ulh_spl. This time they want Rs 1000 to make such changes and this amount would not be adjusted against the bill payment of the plan. They are taking undue advantage as our area is only having MTNL and Tikona. I had tried MTNL a decade back and was not satisfied. I had also used Tikona in the same period and was again not satisfied with Tikona. I had then opted for Hathway broadband and was absolutely pleased with their service. However my current location is not having its coverage.
