Hey guys,

I am facing a strange problem with GTPL. Its connectivity needs account and password to connect, PPPOE based same like BSNL. GTPL disabled mac binding on my request. So, I can connect any device to its connectivity. I have to enter username and password in created connection under network connection. I have checked on three computers to check mac restriction. It works well with computer.
snap after connecting internet with computer.

But when I try to connect through router after configing router under PPPOE mode. I am not able to access internet and when I see in the log of router, it gives me PPPOE failed error message.
config menu under D-Link wbr-1310

router log message under dlink wbr-1310

Has anybody an idea on it???
Tested on Router WBR-1310 and Ooma hub but does not work.
Thanxx for reading.

That IP address it's trying to connect to is wrong: 168.95.192.1 belongs to Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, and even then, that's a DNS request (port 53). Also change your router to be "always on". Sometimes something as silly as the date can cause problems, so check that too.

There was no problem with IPs.I have changed connection mode to always on, removed service name and clone mac.Now it is working with WBR-1310 auto loginBut it does not work with OOMA HUB.When I config ooma hub under PPPOE mode, ooma hub is unable to connect with connectivity under PPPOE mode.Still finding solution for OOMA hub......

But it does not work with OOMA HUB.

Still finding solution for OOMA hub......

I would suspect that cloning the MAC ID was probably the thing that made the difference. In that case, there probably is some MAC binding going on. No, I don't care if they told you there isn't, the computer never lies, humans do.

The OOMA hub shouldn't need any PPPoE details to set up - it's a phone box, all you should do is configure your login name and password for the OOMA service. If the WBR1310 has more than one ethernet port, plug your PC in to one and the OOMA hub in to another (there's not much point in doing as WBR1310 >> OOMA >> PC unless the WBR1310 has only 1 ethernet port - in which case, it still should not require your PPPoE details).

Thanx for the reply.
I know that I could do as per your explained setup, WBR=>ooma but i want to connect ooma first with ISP cat-5 cable because WBR has not any Qos feature whereas ooma has it. If I connect WBR first and meantime, any computer comes online, the bandwidth will be shared and ooma may suffer some voice quality. Therefore, It is better to connect with OOMA first to get better performance and deliver the rest of bandwidth for WBR.
I am still not understanding the problem with OOMA. As I think there is a problem with MTU in ooma which can not change. It detects automatically.
I also contacted with tech support of OOMA but no result.
I think I have to buy another separate router for OOMA to keep it online 24x7......

Waiting for reply if anyone has something in mind.

Thanxxxxx mg again.

By the way, About the mac. I have double checked from ISP side, There is no mac bound for me. And Also I have changed ooma mac to my pc. It still does not work.

Hi,I have Netgear WNR612 router, and I'm facing a strange problem.. I have GTPL broadband connection.I set up the router with default settings and just providing my username and password, and it worked. I was able to connect to internet. Now after 3 days, I was not able to connect to internet and I had to hard reset the router. After that this became routine and I had to hard reset the router every other day.The strange things is, I have taken the backup of settings and after hard resetting the router i use the same backup file and it starts working, But I guess, whenever connection drops because of some reasons like timout or something, my router is not able to reconnect!!I contacted GTPL and netgear support, they tried with some MTU size, but it did not work. Please help me if you have faced similar problem or have any idea!

i had the same problem today and I solved it.
Create PPOE connection on your router and do this settings.
Enable UPnP? Yes
Get the WAN IP automatically? Yes
Connect to DNS Server automatically? Yes
User Name: (your isp username)
Password: (your pwd)
Enable PPPoE Relay? No
Host Name: (your router name)
MAC Address: (your router mac address)
now connect.
Hope this will help. 🙂

Hi,
Please give router internet MAC address to GTPL Customer Care. By default GTPL works only with registered physical/MAC address. So once you connect through router, it won't allow you to connect until you register router's MAC address with GTPL.
