Looks like we are not alone in fight for \"unlimited\" broadband. Verizon's wireless service is good, it gives 2mbps speed on cell phones.

But they discourage heavy users

Right, this happens mostly in areas where the customer does not have an alternative, Verizon handles pretty much the US eastern seaboard, they give fantastic speeds but are not really known for being too download friendly. For that speakeasy is there, but they are bit more expensive.

For cell phone usage Verizon in that area are pretty much the leader. When i worked there and was travelling a lot in that region and upto Chicago, excellent coverage. Of course its CDMA..but who cares.

This service is available on a PCMCIA card as well, it runs on EVDO, you have to connect it to PC/Laptop. And yes verizon is pretty good in terms of network, you usually get signals even at Subway stations that are 2 - 3 levels below surface. I am using T-Mobile, it gives good service in NY/NJ not sure about other areas.

I am in NY for a few months
