435GB???!! OMG!

Anyways, what have all you guys decided on then? I am still trying to delay my decision but I know time is running out 🙁

it was just last month coz i d/l some old complete seasons of Stargate and also uploaded movies too. Normally i try to stick to data transfers around 150 - 200 GB

The new plan is terrible, isn't there any ISP offering decent service and plans that still provide usable speeds after FUP (i.e. 1Mbps).

There will be. Soon. That's what we are all waiting for.

I just got that mail aswell.
I loved the bit at the end telling me that they will automatically switch me to the new plans when my new billing cycle begins if they do not recieve any response from my end.Hilarious.
For ****s sake.

256 Kb/s?
What next?dial up?

Looking at their email, I wonder what they would answer if you were to reply
Thank you for your email. You state that you are continuously upgrading your offering to deliver a great fixed line and broadband experience. For my kind of usage, I fail to see the new offering as a upgrade. I therefore wish to reject your upgrade and stick with my existing plan
or something to that effect.
It probably will not make a difference to them but you may feel good about it.

Do they allow the subscribers to continue with their existing plans - if the subscriber threatens disconnection?

I haven't gotten this email as yet. T

thats what i did and they didnt respone to my mail still i m not gonna pay the bill

There was one sales guy though who went into an awkward pause for 10-15 sec when i told him my last month data transfer was around 435gb.

lol435GB u cant even imagine with new airtel plans

This is the copy of the mail i've sent them.Have added my name and number to the same at the end before sending..........................................................................................................................................Whosoever it may concern,I want to make it plain and simple while trying to not seem like threatening airtel with a disconnection request or anything like that.I am currently on the old freedom 1699 plan(2 Mbps till the FUP and 1 Mbps thereafter) and have been mailed to suggest(its more like an order, talk about lack of business ethics) a move to the new impatience 1699 plan.256 Kb/s is simply unacceptable to me as a 'Broadband' speed.I am a heavy internet user and since airtel bizarrely counts uploads in my total data consumption, 40 gb gets used up very quickly.I don't know about the legality of forcing your customers to accept plans against their wishes but in any case, the speed after 40gb data consumption is downright ridiculous.I hereby refuse to accept any such plan change that I will be forced to accept if i do not switch to a different plan from my end.Regards,A (currently) disgruntled Airtel user

Just say, "I do NOT want to change my plan & you do NOT have my permission to change it". If they reply with their usual blah-blah, say the same thing. Question is, will they go ahead & change it anyway...Going down from 250kBps to 32 kBps would be a killer!!For those who have received this e-mail, what is your data usage per month? Average.....I have not received this email yet, but I suspect mine is around 30-35GB per month.

Check out Reliance Broadband. They have some really awesome plans without FUP. From what I have heard, their service isn't exactly top notch, but is not pathetic either
