I had 512kbps which got upgraded to 1mbps with the Airtel's Double Speed offer in June 2010. For next three months i enjoyed the double speed without any extra charges. Since last month Oct 2010 i started getting 512kbps (half speed).I called customer care (paid call) and checked i did not cross the FUP and still my speed is half. They took some time and finally communicated that starting Oct they have withdrawn double speed offer and did not communicate to any of the user. I could not believe this so i hung up and called the customer care again during some other time and got the same response and the same reason for my half speed. I again was not happy because customer care did not inform any user and reduced the speed to half.So i decided to blast Airtel in an email and sent it to customer care email address and then in 2 days i got the same response via email.I sent tweets as well that Airtel is cheating by reducing the speed and removing the offer, i got a reply back from the Airtel Twitter account that the offer is still there. Then i forwarded the response from the customer care to the twitter account and since then there has been no response. So quietly Airtel has done it again and sucked hard to reduce the internet speed of the users to half. Please reply back if your double speed has also been reduced to half along with the location and Plan in the following format.Current Speed: 512kbps Location: Hyderabad

Yes, even I was a victim of the same but nodal officer's dept. fixed it. I suggest you Email your state's airtel nodal officer's dept.

bastards first they bring double speed and then introduce even more fup and now the fup stays but no double speed.I think airtel can easily be sued for unethical malpractices.

yeah airtel double the speed offer which was introduced from july 2010 has been withdrawn from oct 2010 but FUK still remians the same

Welcome to the new Airtel................. new and innovative ways of screwing with the customers! I am now not regretting that I have moved my primary connection from Airtel these guys are just going from bad to worse day by day, well I am surprised to say that now Reliance broadband looks a much more attractive and a fair ISP than Airtel.

Yes, you need to email/call the nodal officer's dept. to get it fixed. Don't waste your time talking to customer care reps.
