Before anyone states, go to bsnl.co.in and find out. I've been there and it's prob easier to find your way around and understand 'jantar mantar' than their crappy website.I have a 3G phone. I will come to India in couple of months time. have heard plenty that bsnl has best coverage and only they offer 3G services atm.Can I buy any bsnl sim card or they have specific 3G sim cards? how much does it costs for sim card?I want lifetime sim card where if I top it up after 2 years then it's still good to go.How much does data costs? don't need much data. may be 500MB/month.what is their APN/IP? I need this to enter in my smartphone.3G roaming works all around India? will need it mostly in Delhi.i haz $$$ so cost is not an issue.cheersps - I need a reliable and good network which has best coverage across the whole country. I am not stuck on BSNL so if you want to recommend another network then feel free. Also I can prob live with EDGE speeds too but would prefer 3G.

anyone?

they have 3g specific sim cards. They also have an option for existing 2g customers to migrate to 3g.

how much does it costs for sim card?

59Rs

I want lifetime sim card where if I top it up after 2 years then it's still good to go.

Depends on the circle and the FRC you do. There are lifetime validity FRCs

How much does data costs? don't need much data. may be 500MB/month.

for 500mb u need to do a recharge of 222 in prepaid. After free usage of 500Mb its 0.01rs/10kb

what is their APN/IP? I need this to enter in my smartphone.

bsnlnet

3G roaming works all around India?

Supposedly. No extra charges for roaming. Few ppl had issues in roaming while using a southern sim in north india.

awesome. thanks dude.what is FRC? full recharge card?also I am guessing BSNL uses UMTS 2100mHz for 3G frequency?

First Recharge Coupon.
:: BSNL 3G :: Prepaid

Yes you select UMTS option in your handset. Most 3g handsets supports superior network speeds which is HSDPA also known as 3.5G. I get 3.5g when using BSNL 3G services.

I believe they use a mix of 859,900,2100 Mhz frequencies.
