asianet dataline -help! - blocked sites

both working fine with airtel

thankyou Bazisuanming.. so far bsnl, tata, reliance and airtel are fineseems every other isp but mine are fine with it...anyone with asianetdataline?... please!!

I am using asianetdataline, and 56.com is getting loaded for me. Do you want me to try other sites?

folks using asianet dataline,

try loading 56.com - ???,??,?,??? or _ÿ??_??,???,? they are chinese websites.. they are safe.... and useful.. they are the youtubes of china...

the thing is.. they seem to be blocked by my isp (or they block my isp if that is possible)... my friends with bsnl can load them and i loaded them on my system using a tata photon, i also loaded them using asianet connection, but with a proxy..

i asked asianet dataline customer care.... but they claim they donot block chinese sites... i sent them an email to their customer care but no reply..

help me out..i got no friends using asianet.... tell me what happens when u load the sites...

i also cant view photos in facebook albums.. which i could using tata photon

but i was able to load them all a while back using asianet itself...

someone is blocking someone, that is for sure.. i'd like to know who... and if possible why..

also if i should change my isp.. which is better??

I guess its with your connectivity, as I am also using asianet and am not facing any of these issues.

this is quite mysterious.. one time all these sites loaded up.. including facebook photos... no problems.... but after that its again back to the same condition...remember.... i was able to access all of these through a proxy site all the while there had been trouble... i am not so sharp on internet technicalities.. can some one figure this out?....any asianet employees here on this forum??.. they should have someone to visit such forums and all!!.. right??.. oh.. wait.. they didn't even reply the mail i sent to their customer care.. yet !!looks even more confusing since some folks have only problems with facebook photos and some have no probs at all!!...

The problem is with DNS, i dont have a clear idea of what DNS is but i solved the problem following some tips i found here

anyways, here is how i fixed it on my computer...

1. Open "control panel"> "Network connections"> under the tab "General" select " Internet Protocol (tcp/ip)"> properties

2. Select "use the following DNS server addresses" and

3. enter the addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and click ok....

that should do it... just refresh the site and the facebook photos should show up

(these addresses are of google's public DNS servers.... but using these will surely restrict u from using chinese sites coz china blocks google services if i'm correct, but this should surely fix the facebook issue)

anyways.. we shouldn't have to do these things..

.. i called asianet and they said they have gotten the same complaint before and are working on it...
