Airtel 8 Mbps 'Unlimited'
So seems like Airtel has new tariff plans for Delhi...... Weird packages though......... almost all of them are "upto 256 kbps" bandwidth, and NONE of them are unlimited use.........WTF??????

And they have a different set of rates for "Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana & UP West"which has one plan that has "upto 384 kbps" but, again, NO unlimited plans.......

They have a new thing that's kind of nice, where if you pay for a year in advance you only pay for 10 months, and similarly one month free on advance payment of 6 months...... However, taking into account that their plans just went down the drain, I doubt that going for that scheme is a wise idea.

The new plans are however much better than before, Delhi tariff are higher - can only @$$ume since MTNL has higher rates than BSNL so they followed suit

Upto 256 Kbps is a fantastic euphemism for saying dont come & scream at us if you dont get 256 Kbps (& in fact most of the time you may not since there may a higher contention on the DSLAM)

How true !

b*st*rds have ruined it for us. practically mocking the common sensibility of indians.

Have they discontinued the U/L packs?I think MTNL/BSNL are to blame bcoz these private providers are always matching their plans to them and not to customer needs

Anyone have any idea what happens to people who are already on the Home 128 plan? Do we keep going on or is Airtel going to try and bump us to some third-rate scheme? (If they try the latter, I for one am not going to continue with Airtel anymore. They can s*ck a fat one.)

i am on the same 900 bucks unlimited. afaik they cannot change our pack now unless we agree to it. let us see... 🙂

I called up customer support and enquired about what will happen to existing plans (I am on the 128 unlimited) and at first he said I will have to migrate to one of the newer plans. When I said that it's not going to be very economical for me and I'll probably switch to another carrier, he started waffling and said that I could keep the existing plan indefinitely. I think everyone should call, complain and threaten them. Maybe they'll come up with a better unlimited plan.I simply cannot believe it. It's always one step forward and two steps back when it comes to connectivity in India. I cannot wait for Reliance to come in and shake things up in March.
