I have an airtel broadband connection with beetel 220 bx modem and a wireless Netgear wgr 614 v 10 router.i need to access internet:1)On my desktop computer with wireline connection 2)and on my Dell inspiron laptop wirelessly which is having windows 7 home OS.I have a static IP address provided by my ISP. Can I simultaneously access internet on these two systems or if not, how can i keep both of them connected to net to access singly at one time.I tried using a LAN cable to connect my router and desktop for wireline access but it did not work while laptop got wireless connection through the router easily.

All you need to know is follow these steps: ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WGR614v10_PMIG_01DEC2009.pdf

This will explain you how you can use Internet on your PC using Wire (LAN Cable) and use internet on your Laptop using WiFi.

And yes it is very well possible. I am using the same setup at home.
