Suggest me a Airtel broadband Unlimited Plan for Downloading Purpose

Hey guys I will be moving to Chennai for my job.

So I was thinking to grab one of Airtel Plan (Have heard a lot about its quality, but not to forget its suck ass FUP)

I am looking for a high speed plan, with uncapped download
(and if not pure uncapped atleast a 50 GB Range will be good enough)

I download a lot of stuffs through Internet so I really need a high speed connection as well descent d/l u/l limits.

I searched for Tariffs on their site and the only thing attracted me was this:-

But I was looking for something like 1 Mbps ones with my above condition applied.

Earlier while browsing the forum I went through this Plan name Freedom Plan etc etc, I dont remember the names exactly, but I remember they were like 1299 and 1699 plans, arent they still available??

Also once applied how much time they take for installation, how much they cost for modem per month (if they do), if I buy modem of my own will they cost for modem installation?

Looking for your answers. And kindly be quick as I gonna leave tomorrow evening 😀

Just go for 4 mbps plan with 25 gb limit best plan in india till now.

They would be still available but airtel has this bad policy of constantly changing and editing plans so i am really not sure you should check up before you take the plan... also keep in mind that now those plans will have FUP so your max dowload for a good speed will last till 25~40GB or so .... and apparently i would suggest to you the best plan from airtel would be the 4mbit plan but even that is only available in certain circles....as far as the installation is concerned it usually takes about 1~3 days after you have confirmed payment etc.. they ask you to rent the modem at rs 50 a month or so ... or you can purchase the modem from them permanently ( i have no idea about this part ) be careful though if you get your own modem the one's the guys do not use in standard installation they create problems once you have a problem in the settings meaning for the first time when the guy is installing the line etc... it'll be okay he will put the settings on your modem ... but if you by chance change them or something happens you are going to have to do it on your own .. so i suggest stick with their modem .. it also works out cheaper a new adsl modem will cost like 1.5k

Well that Download limit will be too low for me, as I am a heavy downloader 😀
a 50 GB FUP is the minimum requirment 😉

About the net connection, I ranged Chennai Customer Support 044-44444121 and this woman told the only unlimited plan with 50 GB limit is Impatience 1799 with 4 Mbps
down 🙁 , I was like damn that sucks because even I get too happy and buy 1799 (with my friend/ rommie ofc) I will be hitting the connection like crazy with such
awesome speeds and finish it off pretty quick. A 1 Mbps something around 1100 to 1200 with 50 GB cap will be descent enough.


auroraPWN - I talked to them (Chennai Circle), and they told they will cost Rs. 250 once, snd that will be one time cost.
Thereafter no rental or aything rental, So I think I will prefer there modem 😀

^^Yeah that was the only unlimited new connection I was told of 😀 by there customer care peoples.

Sorry, I just couldn't help saying this after all that Airtel has been doing in the last few months. :smile::wink:You are not in Mumbai or Delhi, so this does not apply to you. :smile:But the best "Airtel`s Unlimited Plan for Downloading Purpouse" in Mumbai and Delhi and true value for money is :yahoo::thumbsup:MTNL Unlimited 999 plan. :yahoo::thumbsup:

If you take 4mb/s 25Gb plan suppose you are a lucky guy then you will get unlimited 4mb speed(means 100 or 200gb easily download with 4mb speed ).so many customers getting this advantage in 4mb plans(me also)
chances are 50 50:smile:
