It really depends upon are to area. U have to try to find out what people living in ur area think. In my area VF network is very weak, and Idea is strong. May be it can be the other way round in some other area.

Depends on which circle you operate in. It is better to go with an operator operating in 900MHz frequency band than the one operating in 1800 MHz frequency.

But how came Idea having such good network coverage inspite of operating @ 1800 Mhz ?

If you have to have same network coverage for 1800MHz, you need to put up 3 times the number of antennas than 900MHz. It is not possible to have better coverage unless they have substantially more number of antennas.

I dont know the technicals. I just know 1 thing - I face very less disconnections on Calls since the time i shifted to Idea.

Thats good. You can avail 3G on Idea also.By the way call drop is also a function of load on the network. I was talking about the signal strength only. Idea, in Mumbai has 2.35mn subscribers as against 5.89mn for Voda.

3G....well its a mirage. It looks awesome from a distance, but when u reach there, its nothing. The rates are too high. Be it call rates or data charges.

Idea is a recent Entrant in Mumbai and I am surprised to see 2.35 mn subscriber. Thats good .

And I don't think 3G is now a hype kind of thing. It no more sounds exciting. Mobile TV had already flopped and Videocalls would also be rarely be used. And for Mobile Broadband, 3G is too costly to use .

Exactly. The ads look good. they show huge promises in ads. But which provider doesnt employ that gimmick? Its upto us to not get attracted by it & stay away unless they bring down charges.

Mumbai is a strange market, Check the subscriber numbers:1. RCOM 7.76mn2. Tata 6.17mn3. Voda 5.89mn4. Airtel 3.6mn5. Loop 3.15mn6. MTNL 2.84mn7. Idea 2.35mn8. Videocon 1.37mn9. Aircel 1.15mn10. Uninor 1.13mn11. MTS 0.74mn12. Cheers 0.36mn

I think RCOM is ahead mainly due to the Trader class which jumped on to the bandwagon when they brought a revolution in call rates. Just think how huge is the Diamond traders' network + the Stock market players + the Cloth market players.

Honestly speaking, Rcom Nornal plan are better tha Airtel and Vodafone Corporate plans. Though their Showrooms and CC are not at par, but their systems are too good. Infact when reliance was launched, they started using Clarify software as CRM and its a costiliest software in world. They have inhouse development team which works on continuous requirements. And their latest Invoice has all kind out clarifications and summarization of usage amount.

Let me throw some numbers again to take ahead the discussion.Revenue of each operator from Mumbai in Q4 FY11:1. Voda 680 Cr2. Airtel 399 Cr3. RCOM 310 Cr4. Tata 295 Cr5. Loop 179 Cr6. Idea 153 Cr

I am sharing plan detail of 3 operators . This shows why ARPU is in this order.

Vodafone:

RCOM:
