INstead making the router as DHCP server make the client ip's as static and then try its working fine for me

A simple way is to use proxy.

1. Interconnect your laptop and other computers from the modem (Assuming that your modem has 4 ports)

2. Assuming that your desktop is the main console, install analogx proxy server . (http://www.analogx.com ) which is just below 1 mb of size . (for nerds, Server is where u dial the connection from )

3. Configure internet settings in client computers. For IE:. Set 192.168..1.1:6588 as your proxy in your browser settings.

First make sure your modem is not in bridge mode. If it is, change that.

Then give static IPs to all of your computers. If your router's ip address is 192.168.1.1, then give each of your computers a unique ip address of 192.168.1.X, where X can be 2~254 (note that the first three groups of numbers, 192.168.1, remain the same in all cases).

Once you have done that, verify that all of your computers can see the router by giving the 'ping' command on the console on each computer. If pinging the router works, that means your LAN is working okay.

Then ping an external IP, e.g. 4.2.2.2, from your LAN computers (with the modem ON) and see if ping works. If yes, then your internet is also working.

Then ping an external domain, e.g. yahoo.com. If ping works, all is well with your network.

Good luck.
