Haha, in that case i wont let them make money from me 😀I didnt let HP do the same too!! I wud buy new cartridge only if refill no longer works with that cartridge.. i.e. after abt 3-4 refills.

Shaving blade and DTH companies follow the same strategy. Sell the product very cheap and then force the user to buy expensive refills.

Warning to those thinking of buying Canon Pixma MP287.


YOU CAN NOT REFILL the cartridges.

I bought this printer assuming cartridges can be refilled. Now I contacted the guy who refills cartridges, he said that PG-810 and CL-811 cartridges (used by Pixma 287) can not be refilled as those cartridges have internal chip which records the ink level.

This counter cant be resetted 🙁 (or atleast noone has found solution yet)

So now I guess I will have to spend 1500Rs for buying new cartridges.

Update:
Desperate me, I contacted another dealer... he said, he can refill but printer will show ERROR on screen everytime I try to print and I have to RESET the printer everytime.

Now this method is is acceptable to me because I dont print often, but may be not to all who print frequently.

Actually the thing u have updated can be quite useful for many. But the problem is, this particular post will be lost soon! And then when time comes to buy a new printer, this factor wud be completely forgotten.
