Showcase is in HD?

How else will they show kites in HD otherwise

Yes HD programmes are recorded & stored with their original broadcast video resolution i.e. HD format.
As HD recordings need more space compared to SD, HD PVRs are provided with bigger HDD generally.
See - Sky+ HD - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SKY UK HD PVR provided with 1 TB/500 GB HDD, while simple PVR was with 250 GB.

Even if TS+ can handle HD channels, the HDD it has will not be sufficient, so, the HDD has to be upgraded

Nope...Neither is Dish TV Tru HD which was launched 3 weeks ago 🙂.....but we have confirmed reports of it coming in by 21st June in the stores

We can expect some news from Airtel & Videocon soon. As Discovery, NGC already providing HD feed, and ESPN can also provide all its international sports content in HD (and DD HD ofcourse for CWG 2010). Besides many English GEC & Movies are available in HD & also Indian content producers would also start adopting HD technology, so its wise for all operators to get in HD now.

Yesterday I have purchased Panasonic Vierra 32 inch LCD TV for HD 🙂
Which model is it? I suppose its Full HD. Mine is Panasonic 32C8D with native resolution of 1366*768 and no HDMI input. I wonder if I can get 720p resolution from these HD STB through Component.

Its the same model as of urs. HD ready. And yes u can get HD from 720p also thru component output.

Discovery HD and HGC HD will be 1080i but 720 p resolution hardly makes difference

Ya, 720p is better than 1080i for moving images. But I suspect of getting any signal through Component as HDCP may be the issue. May be we get the HD signals from HD STB but not from Blu Ray Players. Donno...

It depends on operator's policy. Some operators allow HD content from component, but they are scaled down to normal standard definition. Some operator may not give any output on component and only HDMI will work for HD content due to HDCP. We have to see what Tata Sky's HD STB does.

Hi Guys I have a serious doubt. Which HD set-top box is Tata Sky offering for its HD Service. As far as i know the set-top box does not look like SKYHD. 😕 Because SkyHD has a far advanced and beautiful HD box. Will anyone be able to give infomation on this.....

SKY STBs are provided by PACE and I guess that design for STB would be exclusively used by SKY UK.Tata Sky STBs are provided by Humax & Thomson, need to see who provides HD STB.
