Thanks for sharing the info. I have been seeing this type of post for long. But does anybody knows when will they launch HD service ? Is it In June 2010 ? or later. If it is not in June 2010, then I'm going to move or take a second connection of Sun HD or Big TV HD.

What is that "JOKES" radio thing in that list?

I have seen and enjoyed HD channels as early as 2005 outside India and let me tell you once you start watching HD, you cannot and do not want to go back to the normal SD channels, the quality and sound being too good. I just wish that Tata Sky uses most of the new space on this satellite and other satellites for its India Ku-Band beams for new HD channels only. We already have loads of SD channels, so HD will bring in altogether a new paradigm of awesome viewing. Hoping that we will have at least 25-30 HD channels on Tata Sky HD by mid 2011. Also hoping that like outside India, ALL MOVIES HD CHANNELS Will NOT SHOW any ads during the movies, as it destroys the entire pleasure of watching the movie in HD, actually the whole purpose of it is defeated.

25 HD channels are not yet launched in India. Only NGC and Discovery HD have full HD i.e 1080i, others channels are upscaled as SD is giving only 5 HD channels, BIGTV only 1 😀 and Dishtv 4

I think its data channel which is incorrectly mentioned as Radio. May be some interactive service related to jokes by TATASKY 🙂 Was there any such interactive service available now/earlier?

No such interactive service, I guess it mite in Active wizkids or something related to children 😀

He also mentioned that TATA (Sky may also cover WORLD CUP SOCCER in HD

Just gone through the news at express India where it says that HC rejects Tata Sky plea for World Cup HD feed from ESPN and the court also says - the petitioner (TataSky) has no infrastructure for the same (HDF) as admitted by it in its answer... that it will launch it before the Commonwealth

Just because Dish is Launching HD with the ESPN feed of World Cup, TS might have wanted to spoil its show by bringing it in the news that ESPN does not have the permission to do so from MIB

Bottom line for HD feed for us, CWG is the hope now 🙂

Tata (Sky which claims to be the leading technology provider is way behind other DTH provider. I was of the opinion that they would come up with HD before FIFA WC, but now its clear that it will be sometime end of Aug or early September. I hate Tata Sky.
