I am entering my problem in detailed here.It is very lengthy to read. Please let me know if wastes your time. 1)Speed test rates are just increaded today after complain to the ISP . But the browsing speed is still seems to be not perfect . 2)The executives of the company says that they said that we should not believe speed testing tools and they show wrong results .They believe on only the downloading speed during software downloads. So now as I am getting 36 to 51 Kbps of download speed in fluctuation mode(for 384 Plan).Upload is 70 Kbps to 220 Kbps .They say that it is perfect. Are they correct? I knew the staff wanted to cover their fault. I am getting that much speed when I close all pages . 3)My Plan is 384 kbps (Wimax broadband) I am getting 0.49 download speed and unknown upload speed when tested with speedtest.net *D grade in ping test.net *359 Kbps Download speed ,156 upload speed and Round trip time100 ms when tested with speed test tool of Indicom . Please let me know if these are the correct measurements. ("* I got this much speed as the executives of the company worked on my complaint just a few hours ago. * Before this from the date of installation (A few hours ago the Indicom staff came to me and made some changes as I complained to the higher officials) I got Very poor speed as Download speed around 200 and some times 70 Kbps . and upload speed used to be 74 Kbps and not at all shown for some times .That it why I am worrying even I am getting this much speed now. ") Would you please check wimax status report which I posted here. The DL CINR is 25 DB at that time and they changed it to 13 +DB now. That's why I am getting good access speed. ******** ****** Connection Status - Connection Status CONNECTED:3319000 KHz INTRF warning BSID 00:0a:10:35:01:34 DL Frequency 3319000 DL CINR +15 dB DL RSSI -62 dBm DL Modulation 16-QAM 1/2 TX_POWER +6.25 dBm My Ping times or latency is " D grade " When tested with pingtest.net For google it is Minimum :101 ms, Maximum is 589 ms Average 243 ms Sorry if I worried you with many questions

your DL CINR is low, for good pings need to have atleast 20db.

*359 Kbps Download speed ,156 upload speed and Round trip time100 ms when tested with speed test tool of Indicom . Please let me know if these are the correct measurements. These are about correct. It might be more accurate for you to download a file from a foreign server. Web browsing may be a result of bursty traffic over a weak signal though - I've experienced the same on my mobile when browsing.

The download speed is Ok and some times upload speed just shows 108. some of my friends say the same as it is the good speed. Some times it is varying .

At the time of Installation theIndicom staff set it tp DL CINR +23 .It used to be reach +25 some times .But at that time (for five days from the date of installation) I used to get very a low speed around 220 to 320 Kbps Download and upload 78 Kbps to 200 above. It used to be very fluctuated and surfing was too slow at that time.Yesterday the staff came to me and changed the DL CINR to +15 DB .***They said that as I am not getting the enough access speed with +23 DB they gonna change it to +15 DB. Please let me know if they mislead me.
* The modem fixed by them is old one.
*Ping times is slower than now when DL CINR was +23 DB.

I request you to look at my other post https://broadband.forum/tata-indicom-wimax-broadband/59269-poor-latency/

I am going to complain the entire issue to Nodal officer .So technical experts help like this is very much needed for me .

Can I expect reply for this?

Checking this page Tata Indicom Broadband 2.0, and I assume you are on the Infinity 384 plan, so you should get the following speeds:

Download: up to about 40Kbytes per second (384kbit/s)
Upload: up to about 30Kbytes per second (256kbit/s)

Although your upload speed is a little slow, it shouldn't affect the browsing experience too much.

It would really really help if you could post images of your speedtest results (use the copy forum link button after the test is finished) and copy+paste your pingtimes from command prompt, keeping in mind that wireless services such as WiMax are always going to have higher than any kind of fixed-line service such as ADSL.

Since you're in Hyderabad, please post speedtest.net results for servers in Mumbai, Chennai and Singapore (by clicking the appropriate small blue pyramid before clicking "begin test").

Try also speed.airtelbroadband.in and report the results.

Ensure you have all downloads, torrents etc turned OFF.

the sector that was giving +23db seems to be over subscribed, thats the reason they locked your wimax modem to connect to a sector with lower CINR. i had similar experience when i was using tata wimax, i used to get only 20kbps (bits) upload speed during peek times when my modem connected to a good signal sector, when i complained to tata they openly admitted that it got oversubscribed, and offered me to get my modem locked. but i refused and used to manually let my modem connect to lower signal sector, by deleting the BS entry of higher signal sector during peek hours. Tata guys are short on wimax bandwidth they use 12mhz spectrum per tower ( 4 x 3mhz for each sector), which is too low. Wish Tata to win some spectrum in the BWA auction that will start after 3g specturm auctions

Yet they say the maximum contention ratio for Wimax is 1:12. Technically that would be false advertising, no? If they get to customer #13, they should install a new tower.

I got my previous problem fixed by complaining to Nodal officer .They have changed the sector and changed the modem ( Telsima Modem) in June (hmm...in 2 nd week). It worked well with pretty good speed for five days .I have not experienced such a good access ever before .

But after five days It started troubling again with low browsing speed. But the downloading speed is good (around 47 KBps) and ping also normal around Avg 80 ms .I don't know why the pages are loading slowly when the download speed is normal .

The speed of downloading is Ok.But the pages are laoding slowly .I am recording the screen. I am pretty sure that there is no problem with my hardware or back ground updates .I installed a fresh copy of OS before I am writing to you .So it could not be a problem with hardware or software background updates .

The staff will definitely respond If I complained again .But they can't find out the problem as they just check the downloading speed .I need an experts advice before complaining them .
Could you help me why it is happening ?
Earlier I happened to complain to Nodal officer as I can show the download speed as evidence .Now I am help less .But don't want to leave them. I am recording the screen when ever the pages are loading with slow access .

Thank you !
