now customers of airtel in Karnataka have to pay 50ps for 3min. i experienced it when i called the cc , first it says call will cost 50ps before you connect to representative. i herd that in kolkata also there is a cost for calling cc. any of guys from other states experienced it.😡

Its the same here in Haryana for about a week now I think maybe more. Same rate 50p/3min, BUT if you have a complaint the call is free (I think the number to dial for that is 198 or somethong, please confirm.)

Yes but calls to 198 are free, as compared to 121. This is confirmed, I asked CC.

Now loop mobile is start charging for its customer care service @ 50p for 3 min... In mumbai..and introduce new customer care No, 800 for any query and 198 for complaint..

hey dear i'm also from haryana but none told me that 198 is toll free for complaints as i've some issues previously

Do you know that some of the Operators charge amount to speak with Customer Care?I am aware of these, which I am using:Idea(Prepaid)/Bangalore - Rs.0.50 per 3 minutesAirtel(Prepaid)/Bangalore - Rs.0.50 per 3 minutesTata Docomo(Prepaid)/Bangalore - No chargePlease add details of other operators/plan/region to this thread, and create awareness among the forum users.Does anyone know, why Mobile Providers are taking such "cheap" steps? Are they using this amount to give Salary Hikes to Customer Care Operators? Or is there anything else bothering them... like... upcoming Mobile Number Portability (whats the latest on MNP?)

loop mobile-no charge, mtnl mobile-no charge, using VF but recently made a call but what i noticed it that my balance wasnt deducted..strange since they had informed that this call will be charged at 50ps/3min...

I think CC call charges are deducted after a while and not instantly. May be because, you are charged only if u contact CC but no charge for using IVR. So their standard program which deducts the amount when u disconnect, wud not be able to process call charges but some kind of regular log parser wud deduct the charges.
