I am currently having the HOME500. I had given a letter to change my connection to HOME900. Will I be notified /called when it's changed or will i have to find it out myself. They have'nt told me anything since I gave the letter to change the scheme..If this ain't gonna happen soon i might just switch to airtel. I know it's kinda dumb, but can I have the airtel broadband with BSNL phone line? 🙄

First off this is BSNL. There would be no notifications or anything. My suggestion to u would be to stop goin to the BSNL officies or dialing any numbers..for now. Just follow these simple steps.1) Open Internet Explorer.2) Type in 10.241.0.1953) Feed in your Id and Password as provided by BSNL4) CLick on Service RecordsYou will see ur current plan. If it has been changed then it would be flashin there. Be aware that if u gave the application for conversion in the middle of the month then its quite possible they havent changed ur plan immediately. They always initate coversion of plans on the first of every month. If u have a choice between BSNL and Airtel...then choose peace of mind. Airtel is better than BSNL on quite some grounds and u should go for Airtel. It is not possible at all to have Airtel on a BSNL line. When u apply for Airtel they will provide u with a new line and with a new handset. CHoice is urs wether or not u wanna keep ur BSNL for callin and Airtel for net purposes as there is no rent on AIrtel.

I recently changed my plan from HOME500 to HOME1000. Went to BSNL office in South City, Gurgaon and picked one of the forms to change the plan. It has option to change phone as well as broadband plan. That was in the middle of the month. Starting July I checked on the usage web site and it reflected my new plan, so yes it gets effective from the first of the month. Though I have to say that my speed is now 100kbps instead of 384kbps.

well, i did'nt have to give a form, i just had to write a letter to the commerical officer to change my broadband connection to HOMEUL900+. I had given the letter on 30/31 of june. when's the upgrade time expected?one more question, what about the modem? does the HOMEUL900+ require a different modem? another thing, i have purchased the modem and have paid the amount in advance, do I get the sum back on returning the modem? thanks for the help guys..

I guess you would see the change from begining of Aug now. All BSNL connections use the same type of modem i.e. an ADSL model so your modem will work irrespective of the plan.

damn.. knew this was coming..it's the 1st of august and the change has'nt been implemented. when i click on the service records for this month ie 2006 - 08, it says "Sorry. The service record you are querying is not found."even when i change the service to query to PLAN - HOMEUL 900 PLUS.. it gives the same message..does the run for help behind BSNL begin here? 🙁

^ perhaps , it would be better to personally contact the concernedofficial at the Local Exchange to make a change in the plan asap !

Actually if you did everything right then u can expect a a change till 2nd of the month too. I know when i applied for the ul plan they implemented it at 5:30 on the 2nd of that month. Sometimes these guyz are just lazy enough to do the work on time. But confirming that personally at the exchange would be a better idea still.
